Fantastic news - REAL progress at last !!! It has to be good news, very good news. Think about it, there is no way he would come away from a face-to-face meeting with the Premier League having been told "we don't want you / your money is no good here / go away". It will be (can only be) the final acceptance of their bid . . . FANTASTIC NEWS !!!

Yep, it’s completely killed any excitement and enthusiasm. I can understand that feeling, totally. However, when you see Amanda talking on Sky Sports News (and every news channel) saying "We the new proud OWNERS of Newcastle United" etc . . . and her outlining the new club objectives, the new members of the board, the plans for a new Training Ground, the plans for the Stadium, and answering questions positively about "where they intend the club to be within three years and the type of players and manager they intend to have" . . . THEN YOU WILL FEEL DIFFERENTLY. I'm SURE, you will be excited again! I know I will !!!

No rumours, but the absolute simple logic of their financial situation, now and ongoing, is that administration is almost inevitable. Not sure how you've worked that one out like. Well, if you don't know that just wait and see, it won't be long!

By the same token, to play devil's advocate, do you see why making a point of saying you'll keep it private has got the seagulls flapping their wings? I'd argue just saying he acknowledged the letter would have been suffice. The second you talk about 'keeping it private' it gives a connotation that there is vital information being shared. Fairly sure that's exactly what happened, only the 'private' comment was later in response to people wanting to know what the letter said. Absolutely right they keep it private AND I'm pleased they told us it happened. Agree entirely, NUST will be a massively useful organisation to us all (even those who don't 'like' them . . ) going forward. Well done them.

That is almost word-for-word exactly what I have written on here more than a few times. I was told to "get real" !! I haven't changed my mind.

NOT KNOWING IS THE "NEW NORMAL". I don't know if I could cope without "not knowing" in my life, when I wake up in the morning . .

Correct on some points, wrong on others. Basically, we are members of the Premier League and should have been treated with RESPECT. It is too late now, for that. There would have been no reason for them not to communicate with us, once or twice, without them breaking ANY 'confidentiality'. Too late now, we know our place. People and organisations do not just have to do the "bare minimum" in life, there is never a need or requirement to just only do the bare minimum, ever. It is about "standards of behaviour" (ie, respect) and that should govern how a decent organisation behaves. THAT is what I mean, doing only what is absolutely required of you (the bare minimum) is not how this important organisation called the Premier League should behave!! (that is not us fans - or me in particular - 'behaving entitled', we should expect more/better)

The Reubens and Staveley have to be part of the test, as they are going to own, and run, the club!!
-
It would appear not, the Premier League have refused to say anything in public, to us or anyone else. They have always said this is for "confidentiality" reasons. There would have been no confidentiality risks in them 'respecting' us supporters by saying to us something like . . "We are still going through the tests. We appreciate your concerns, but we have to get it right. You will be advised of the results of the tests when they are completed . . . Thankyou". No breaches in confidentiality there. They didn't do that, because they couldn't give a sh*t about us at all.

Yes, the Premier League have refused to say anything in public, for "confidentiality" reasons. What a pack of lies! There would have been no confidentiality risks whatsoever in them 'respecting' the fans by saying something like . . "We are still going through the tests. We appreciate your concerns, but we have to get it right. You will be advised of the results of the tests when they are completed . . . Thankyou". Perhaps someone can tell me where the breach in confidentiality is in there please ??

Trafford is the jewel in their crown. The ones that always get mentioned on our "so-called" National TV News Stations, are the Trafford Centre and Lakeside. Lakeside only gets mentioned because it is "down South" and about 15 years ago it lied that it was "the biggest indoor shopping centre in Europe" (which it never was, Metrocentre was, and is, that) but of course the Southern Parochials still remember the lie !!!

There is nothing pointing towards Ashley staying. He is already gone WE just don't know it yet !!!

Yes, she will be the initial 'front-person' doing the interviews, making presentations of the way forward, ambitions of the club, etc. The current court case she is involved in could well inhibit this though. But, I'm sure she'll give it a go! Howay man , any fucker will do. No way, in my dreams she always does the first interview / announcement!

July the 4th, so they can't be blamed for people gathering at SJP. Is that something to do with the USA ??

It is very good news, the longer the better. It means back-and-forth negotiations are going on. The quality of our three new owners is such that I can only imagine a positive outcome from such negotiations.

I hate this 'good things don't happen to us' line, sounds like permanent victim mentality mode....but the thing is, in this case it feels valid. Ever since it became clear that this wasn't going to pass without a hitch, it just seems impossible to imagine us as being the richest club in the world. Nah. Nee way, fuck that, it's not happening. The GOOD thing about how long this has taken is that it obviously means both parties are seeking a way to meet the terms and approve the Takeover. The longer it has gone on - the better. If it was going to be NO (which it never could be as the club is sold already) then it would have been a pretty QUICK result !!

Can't find anything recent in FORBES, online. Then tried FORBES MiddleEast.com (a separate entity) and they have nothing recent either, just this one from back in MAY . . . https://www.forbesmiddleeast.com/money/investing/saudi-bid-for-newcastle-united-approved

Never quite been able to think of us as a "little football club", but I get the point you are making!

There's the optimism we've been lacking around here. Well, I have repeatedly shown optimism. In fact not optimism . . certainty !!

Another article by the 'Flat Earth Society'. Where do they find the time? They really should get a life.
