This latest bit of 'fake news' has certainly caused a lot of concern and upset on this forum. The inevitable approval of the takeover is not far away now, and the more "rubbish" that is invented and quoted as fact by reporters, the more certain I remain of approval happening . . and SOON.

I've written on this thread quite a number of times now, that I see the publication of the WTO report to be followed very quickly by the inevitable approval of the Takeover. I see no reason to change that view now. An exciting few days ahead!!

Have a look at my post just above yours. That is what I explain in there . . why they are "needing" the WTO report published, before they can announce the approval of the Takeover !!

This is what I saw too. I actually think there's a lot to be optimistic about. KSA cant just ignore this report and its findings and will need to seek a resolution with Qatar. Qatar too will want reparations and so surely it stands to reason that once that has been resolved the takeover will be free to be pushed through. It would explain why the PL.havent rejected it yet, it seems to me that they're waiting for the report to be released so that that can be resolved which would leave them free to ok the takeover without repercussions from both sides. Is that not what I said ? It is certainly exactly what I said only this morning . . . I feel the opposite of that. The Premier League know that (commercially) the deal is done, the club is sold, and they also know that their League needs us and the Saudi's money, rather than letting it go elsewhere in these financially 'devastating' times that are ahead in the UK. It is difficult to overstate how bad our Financial Crash is going to be. So, they are desperate to approve the takeover, but they KNOW how much high profile (but irrelevant) 'flack' they will get when they approve it, so they are going to use the WTO Report Findings as their 'explanation' that it was NOT 'PIF' (the legal entity) who were responsible for the Piracy. That is how I see it playing out - so expect to hear very good news this week . . . Yes, the Premier League have 'seen' the WTO Report, but the point is until it is published they cannot use that report as their evidence (explanation why) they are approving the takeover. The 'publishing' of the report is the important factor here.

The government was always going to indicate support. Prior to the last election, Johnson made commitments to increase investment in the North of England. This takeover is a way for Johnson to say "promise kept" without having to spend any government money. From the government's perspective this takeover is manna from heaven. this is one (of two) of the main reasons why I have always felt 100% certain that this takeover will happen. The other main reason is that, as far as I can work out, the 'sale' has commercially ALREADY HAPPENED !!
-
Yes, I agree, it would be pointless if the PL did this in isolation. It would be in the interests of ALL the main leagues to align their transfer windows.
-
I've never quite been able to imagine the 3rd Division / 3rd Tier, as being called "League 1" . . it just sounds odd !!
-
The latest talk (on Sky Sports News) is that the Transfer Window will run for three months from August to October this year. So, as long as we have our new Manager in by then (before then) to make the right decisions and attract the right players, I don't care if Bruce is here until the end of the current season as even he can't get us relegated . . . . surely?

How sweet it will be when we WIN and the Takeover goes through. There will be a long list of sad b**tards who have tried to interfere with our great club's future, many of them have tried for VERY dubious and VERY hidden-from-view reasons, who will be weeping and wailing about it. Except most of them (with obvious exceptions) will not be 'weeping', as they don't really care less, they just wanted to 'interfere' and make sure we remain in our place. That is true . . that IS what it often is, in the real world.

Everything is subject to law. If the PIF/PCP/RB consortium don't agree with the Premier Leagues 'reasonable opinion' decision based on the evidence provided then I will be very surprised if they don't take it to court (after the appeal process has played out). Of course everything is subject to law. That doesn’t mean you can sue a corporation because they won’t let you join according to their properly constituted rules and by-laws. If they don't agree with the decision then of course they can take them to court. It happens all the time in business and industry across the world. You believe what you want to though. No need for the condescension - especially when you’ve made no attempt whatsoever to actually answer the question initially posed: on what basis do people think the consortium can sue the PL if the takeover is denied. As you so eloquently and intelligently said, everything is subject to law. So on what basis, in law, would the consortium have to sue the PL if they fail the O&D test? And even though you’re being a dick, I’ll give you a start. One basis might be that the consortium would sue on the grounds that the O&D test wasn’t properly applied - but that is a lunatic case, legally. The rules are malleable and it’s a great big “if”. So I don’t buy it. So, again, on what basis could the consortium sue the PL? Wasn't being condescending at all if that's your opinions and thoughts then so be it. I already answered the question, they could go to court due to the Premier League decision, being in their opinion incorrect, based on the evidence provided. Whether that's based on the responsibility for the piracy, PIF being a separate legal entity or even something else. It would then be up to the court to decide if the decision based on the evidence provided was correct. As I said before, it happens all across the world daily. If the decision goes against them, the entire consortium will sue the Premier League for the reasons Godzilla lists, and probably a few more reasons. That is why there is not a "cat in hell's chance" of this bid being rejected, in my opinion. The PL are just trying to 'squeeze' as much out of the consortium (assurances re alleged piracy, etc, etc) before announcing the approval. In my opinion, that is!

As I said earlier, irrespective of all this, it remains true that 'ostracising' a country - as many of the people who dislike the Saudi Government keep on advocating, by wanting our takeover stopped - you make things for that country, the people of that country, for the world in general, SO MUCH WORSE. I wish people would work that out for themselves and stop doing it and saying it. We must, must, must, work with Governments and countries like that, to bring them (eventually) into the fold of civilised countries. We must do that.

We have never been anywhere near "this stage" in any proposed takeover in the past. I don't know when any announcement will be made, I have no idea at all . . . but I am certain that it will be worth the wait! We never had an official 'end' to the BZG takeover Honestly man if people think this is 'another fakeover' give your heads a shake man Yes indeed, we have NEVER been anywhere like this before. Just "relax" people and then "imagine" just how great it is going to be soon. OOPS, end of 'relax' !!!!

Deleted and GONE. I found it!

It is odd how these things keep on getting repeated, long after they have been de-bunked. As Stifleaay says, the Saudies have confirmed they own the rights to show those matches.

Still heading North West. Geneva ? Farnborough ? Ponteland ? How about NEWCASTLE ?

Next season is the last season on the BeIN contract. The bidding process is due to start layers this year/early next year. They are rumoured to be changing their name to BeOUT.

WTO have commented . . . “We can confirm that Qatar initiated a WTO dispute settlement case against Saudi Arabia in October 2018 regarding the protection of intellectual property rights and that a panel was established in December 2018 to review Qatar’s claims. The panel proceedings and panel process remain confidential until the final report is circulated to WTO members.”

I always remember Keys on a prime-time evening, weekly Sky programme called "The Footballers Football Show", where there were footballer guests and a studio audience, after NUFC had done something, or bought someone (can't remember what) Keys said (with belief) "Are Newcastle United now the biggest football club in the land, even bigger than Manchester United". He has sunk since then !!
