Is he as good as they say? As the only time I've really seen him was the cup game against Man Utd. He looked a real talent in that game, as despite his undoubted ability, what impressed me most was his decision making. He never seemed to hold onto the ball too long and was always looking up for his team mates. He's young, so isn't consistent yet, but as you say, he actually has a brain. Decent crosser as well as having good pace, potential to be a lot more rounded than Theo Walcott has become. I reckon he should stay for another year, play Championship football, then move on. But it seems as though 25k a week plus a big sign-on is more tempting than structured career development. Definitely one to watch.

You won't get Oxlade-Chamberlain. Wouldn't be surprised if you were trying for Lallana, I know Southampton are trying to get him on a new deal atm as his contract expires at the end of the season. You'd have to bid a fair amount to get him immediately though.

Surely he could've bought some players. Its not like Peterborough were strapped for cash. Most of POSH's permanant signings over the last few seasons were taking young players from league 2 and non-league. That indicates a small budget for transfers. He did as well as he could in my opinion. He will no doubt get another job very soon but if I were him I'd make sure I got at least a bit of money to spend. it's because his signings were shit (source: old maths teacher who supported p'boro also said he was an overrated manager and p'boro's success was despite him).
