£7m was the rumorued amount Chelsea are looking to bid http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2010/06/06/1961642/chelsea-to-bid-7m-for-andy-carroll-of-newcastle-united I'd take 12 million, 20% sell on profit and they can loan him back to us for this year

We as a club just need to concentrate on being competitive. Its the hardest thing to do in sport. Its ten times harder to become competitive then winning the title.

I think the main reason why I support Newcastle is that whenever there had been a crossroads at the club they always took risks and went for it. I really think that's down to the type of people that support and live near the club. I love it how the club trys to play a style of football to not be successful but to entertain. My dream job in life is to come into this club and actually fix the mess which has occurred in this club and make the supporters proud, if not a title winning top 4 club, but simply a club which every fan can be proud of. That is still a fair few years away as I need my experience somewhere else and its hard to get a gig.... That said these statements have been very generalized but I really do feel like this just from some of the actions thrown out by this club. I'm very happy to support this club, I've been able to afford to go to two games in my time. The first was the last minute victory over spurs with duff scoring and us getting fisted by liverpool 5-1. I think they were both painful games but it is why i love this club.

Running a sporting club and running a business is completely different.

I don't think Hughton would care what message getting rid of Best would send, he is more bothered about what is for the good of the team and what is best for Newcastle imo. I agree, best was brought in for qualification and the possibility of improvement to play in the prem like routledge, i think hell be off as has resale value.
-
Yeah im resigned to him staying, he has premiership goals at the very least. We at least know what we get with shola, especially when hes on a bike.

Where's the 4? Albin, Boyd, Macheda & Maynard Best and xisco will be out the door (hopefully for best) and i have a feeling lovenkrands might be too which i will be a little disappointed as i have a lot of emotional attachment to him as a player but I think its necessary. so four sounds about right, the glorious part about that rumor is that they all the strikers bring something different to the table and combine it with AC and that could be a mid table strike force.... with one more decent midfielder and right back =D

On 15 July 2006, Ferguson confirmed that Van Nistelrooy wanted to leave Manchester United, and Real Madrid announced two weeks later that he had signed a three-year contract after being purchased for €24 million. 24 million euros was worth 16.5 million pounds on that date So 18million is probably the fee you would expect to plastered on berbatov, tbh buying him for 12 million and sensible wages would be worth it.

TBH there is nothing wrong with setting the bar too high. Its setting it too low which will give me the shits. Cmon guys Gamble. =D

liked all the ones except for the home one.

Just did some research in Getafe forums. There's nothing about your supposed offer but they say he and his agent have been trying to get him sold to half of Europe by now. They reckon the guy has incredible natural ability but is pretty lazy and unmotivated. Could come here fall in love with the club/fans/city and use his talent. Worth the risk on a free IMO, especially with our new found team spirit. Jose would show him how its done +D

Guys i think its more like this. You have a 21 man squad. 17 players can be foreign. And the other 8 must be home grown. Under 21 players don't need to be given a squad number to play and can count for home grown players if placed in the squad.

TBH i dont care as long as we spend it correctly.

Box-to-box has always struck me as, barring a select few, a player who isn't particularly good defending or attacking really. Recklessly banded about term making players sound better than they are. Position doesn't really exist in the modern game anyway. I consider Ballack to be a box to box. to me a box to box is a player with a huge engine and can do everything that needs to be done in the center.

How does that break down? Routledge - £1.75m Best - £1.5m Williamson - £1.5m Simpson - £750k ? loan fees???
-
Thats true to a degree i feel, beye needed his wages though as hes at the later end of his career.
-
You do realise this is all planned by shola ? He will come back score a brace in a 3-1 victory and get injured, the end, its all an elabrote conspiracy to get shola a new marquee contract
-
Don't clubs do medicals when the fee is over (x)?
-
deeper defensive line
-
Imagine if he was still at liverpool, torres and bellamy would be dynamo
-
simpson/raylor - saylor - williamson - enrique Colo =D
