  1. Gutted. How can anyone be happy with Villa getting a point? Excusing Brummie obviously.
  2. I've started to make my banner in preparation of this event. Poster paints and bedsheet at the ready. Sob on the Tyne? Go fuck yourself, arseholes.
  3. Get in, Chelsea! Well happy with that result if it stays the same.
  4. No Gosling on the bench. Not a bad line-up, 4-4-2. The two strikers are poor though. Not like there's much else you can do though. Ranger might be marginally better, but I expect to see him from 60 minutes onwards at the latest.
  5. This just got much more interesting.
  6. By that token I've seen little from Jonas, Rout or Barton to suggest they will contribute to the goals tally. Let's apply the same standards as you are applying to Ranger. At least he has the excuse that he hasn't started many games. He's scored 2 and had about 5 or 6 assists this season to be fair.
  7. That's ridiculous. Whether he's playing upfront or as a holding midfielder he's dead weight. We're essentially down one man and playing at a disadvantage because he offers literally nothing for us and a few set pieces in promising positions for the opposition.
  8. There's no denying he's been really poor whilst at Spurs though. Especially when you compare that to when he was at Blackburn. I think he's a decent enough player but was massively overhyped based on 1, possibly 2 seasons. There's some quality in there somewhere, it's just we have the manager who can unlock that.

I can't really comment much on the Bolton game, but the turning point for the West Brom game in my eyes was Guthrie fucking about and kicking the floor, before that next goal we were looking good to go on and win the game, after that goal we imploded. We're always going to get a few pastings, that's the nature of the game. When you look at which players were missing from these games and where the errors came from, a lot points to injuries and a lack of depth in terms of quality. Thing is we'll never sort this out under the current owner because he's a tight fisted cunt.

How far away from serious pressure was CH? I think CH would've garnered significantly more support through the bad periods due to his previous achievements and the general goodwill towards the fella. Nobody expected miracles of him. If an 'Experienced Manager' is recruited as an improvement over the status quo then naturally pressure will be higher and patience lesser. If he came with more gravitas then the argument would naturally be to give him time (see the argument for Hodgson from some quarters) but his previous clubs have been Reading, Southampton, Charlton etc so he'll find himself with very limited public support should results go against him. That and the fact he's an Ashley man. I agree that AP probably won't receive a huge amount of patience but I'm not so sure how things would have panned out for CH. The performances against Bolton and WBA had been very poor and any thought that we might rely on away form to stay up was blown (and yes some did seem to be relying on that). He wasn't too many poor results away from being under serious pressure imo. Yeah, but he had several key players out - this is a definite factor in them results.

Nah, if the player was being considered he'd be "a player we're very much aware of".
  12. Ironically I read these comments via twitter. Someone needs to have a quiet word in Pardews' ear, because he just can't be giving away first team info like this.

Schmeichel required counselling after witnessing that leg break.

He loves the fans. All the get well soon cards clearly had an effect on him. Watched the compilation of him against Everton the other day again. Phenomenal.

Same with the Ranger stuff. I agree with 'Pards' seniment but he seems too keen to air things that like you say can stay within the realms of internal club politics It's something I loved about Hughton, he kept everything in-house and didn't give anything away to the media. Pardew is an idiot that gets into fights on the touchline, makes ridiculous comments and just doesn't command respect. There's just no point to this appointment.
  16. The only thing Pardew is going to reverse is NUFC being in the premiership. Seconded. Aye, after games v Liverpool, Man City and Spurs. 3 of the top 7 last season anyone can make that judgement. Total lunacy. What is, your sentence structure? What the f*** does the second one mean? It's like The Times cryptic crossword man. How ppl can judge a manager is going to take us down after his 1st 3 games are against 3 of the top 7 from last season. May as well judge any manager on single games at that rate. He relegated Charlton and was odds on for getting West Ham relegated. He's a s*** manager with poor tactical knowledge and no idea about man management. Ian Holloway relegated Leicester, that make him a s*** manager then. Charlton were already going down any-case. Again you putting what your views are ahead of what you saying and being biased in the whole situation. I'm putting what my views ahead of what I am saying... All I can say is what my views are. What a ridiculous comment, unless you meant something else in which case I think you should think more carefully before typing. The Ian Holloway reference is pointless to be honest, he did relegate Leicester but he has shown with Blackpool that he has tactical ability and decent man management skills. As I understand Pardew did alright with Reading before leaving for and ultimately being fired by West Ham - deservedly so as well. He had an alright start and a cup run but they looked terrible near the end. He may have not being the main reason for Charlton being relegated given where they were when he took over, but going into the championship with the team favourites to win it, finishing 11th and then going on the season after that to be hated by the fans for his negative tactics before getting fired kinda balances it out. Finally, Southampton. He did alright with them, won a cup which is fair play.. but then was fired. Why was this? According to reports it's because of low player morale and dressing room discontent. According to locals on the inner track it's because he was banging one of his players' wives. Classy. This man is not good enough to manage NUFC, or any other team with long term premiership aspirations. He has no dignity and no class. He will ultimately relegate us because he seems unable to maintain a dressing room spirit (unlike Hughton) or approach games with a positive, attacking attitude (unlike Hughton - arguably).

It's more a case of nobody wanting him here. He's done nothing to win over my support and I doubt he ever will. He's a liability.

Quiet the opposite, Neesy is right about Jonas being turd. Hard job to argue against it. Yeah.. but no-one is arguing against Jonas being poor.

It was 2-0. Yeah after 2 shocking pieces of defending 1 of which was a Hughton signing. Spurs created 2 goals, it doesn't really matter how we reacted to them. It's irrelevant who signed the player really, as he was selected by our current manager.
  22. Why is Guthrie not available? Because he's a fat useless wanker with a heart the size of a pea. Not a normal pea, mind you.. one of those peas that falls out of the pack and falls on the kitchen floor and you don't notice it until the next day when you're cleaning up and it's gone a darker shade of green and really really shrivelled. That is the heart of Danny Guthrie. I got told that he's been declared ill on a serious note. Apparently quite a few players have got it, some played through it on Boxing Day. He's well enough to drink some blue WKD with his girlfriend though.
  23. You might want to check when we actually signed Smith and Xisco. I think he's on about Shepherds' era in general. It started the trend and our wage bill was massively over inflated due to agents' knowledge of how much we were willing to pay for generally very average players that couldn't care less about playing for the club.
