I just wish he would shut the fuck up. He just goes on and on about nothing in particular.
  3. Funny that VI created this thread. Like a kid a christmas.

Dave, you don't think less of me now do you I'm not a real ITK. Just for this once. This is the only time, I promise. Aye but that is just for me coz I'm now in a position of power over you plebs. This pussyfooting weakens your argument and makes you resemble a vagina. Spill the info. Please
  6. He's been hired to shift on the higher earners knowing MA.
  7. f***ing hell Btw does lunging at the far post when trying to get on the end of a cross, scoring the goal but following in on the keeper deserve a red? Nobody wanted to answe this one then? Because it's stupid. There's a difference between sticking your leg out to tap in a cross and flying into a tackle Kung Lao 'Mortal Kombat' style.
  8. This, however, is balls. His intent was what he executed: take advantage of a loose touch by jumping in front of the player and hooking the ball. It was still dangerous, however. If it goes wrong then you send him off. It's like any tackle man. If you slide in the box and win the ball, it's no penalty. If you slide in the box and miss the ball, it is a penalty. There's no, "Oooh, but he might have got the timing wrong let's give a penalty anyway". Same should apply here imo. What about if you elbow/punch someone and don't make contact? This is actually a red card. Roy Keane got a red for a swing and a miss against Shearer. EDIT:
  9. No he would have been Alan smith Alan Smith never misses the player.
  10. No, because that isn't a tackle. If there was a string of serious incidents from overhead kicks I guarantee the FA would head in that direction though. If the player's in the air and not really in control of his body at that point, what's the difference? I suppose there isn't, but you could say the same about diving headers. The fact is that serious career ending injuries have been caused from players leaving the ground and going into the tackle and so the rules have changed over the years to allow referees to simply red card anything like this, because this tackle could have gone horribly wrong and can't see how anyone could deny that. Yes, he DID get the ball, but because he left the ground and lunged in with a lot of power behind the tackle, this will be considered reckless by the FA.
  11. No, because that isn't a tackle. If there was a string of serious incidents from overhead kicks I guarantee the FA would head in that direction though.
  12. And that's the bitch of it. He left the ground completely to lunge into a tackle and the FA don't want this in the game at all so it won't be overturned in the hope that it will go a little bit further to stopping players do this. The tackle was inch perfect, but slightly off and it could have been very very reckless and that's what the FA will claim when they review the appeal.
  13. Exactly my point. He's in control of the actual tackle. But he's left the ground, he's lunged in and therefore not in complete control. That tackle could have easily gone wrong if someone like Smith had tried it. It's the possibility here that will lead to the ban being upheld. The FA want this kind of thing removed from all levels of the game and simply won't allow players to launch off the ground and go into the tackle, no matter how inch perfect it may be.
  14. As soon as Tiote left the ground with both feet it was irrelevant if he would get the ball or not, he was going off. He didn't lead with studs or have both feet in for the tackle but because he left the ground and lunged in for the ball there is absolutely no chance in it being rescinded. The FA will consider it reckless, regardless of the players' intent.
  15. As he's seemingly here for the next 12months+, why don't you want the club to progress? He might be a bit doubtful whether Pardew is the right man to be handed a transfer kitty. I know I was when Kinnear was given the money during the last premier window in Jan. Hopefully Pardew will be a bit more clued up than Kinnear but I still feel nervous. Only just noticed this, aye that's all it is really. Exactly the same as when Kinnear was here. In my heart of hearts i don't see Pardew being here for long so i'd rather not see him blow whatever finances we have. Souness got £50m and it'd have crippled us had Ashley not 'saved' us. We need reinforcements this window but i'm cautious. Especially if he sees right-wing as a priority*. *Though we do need to improve the cover. Wrong. We're stuck with the dour prick.
  16. He's right, our club has a higher profile than the other two and Stevenage dominated us. They wanted it and we were gutless.
  17. For what it's worth I don't agree that it should be a red card as it was a good tackle, but how he went for the tackle has been highlighted by referees to give red cards for because of it's potential danger or recklessness.
  18. He left the ground for the tackle and because of that it can be considered reckless. It wasn't two footed going into the tackle but his studs were showing. He's out of the match next Sunday.

  20. The football has the spirit of ex-Grimsby Whittle in it clearly. Went straight for the face.
