Fairly interesting interview with Keith Gillespie, talking about his time here. Noticed it on one of the journos' twitter earlier. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1340942/Keith-Gillespie-star-Beckham-Barcelona-tormentor-waiting-wings.html

15K. 5K of which were us. I really wish Wigan would just f*** off and get relegated Just imagine is clubs like Sheffield Wednesday, Forest & Leeds were back up where they belonged. I can't stand half empty stadiums, it's a fucking embarrassment.

So basically while not prejudging or targeting certain players, you should prejudge and target certain players? Ironically he strongly criticised how referees were prepared for the 2006 world cup (you know, the only massively fucked up in). There was a presentation and referees were told to focus on people like Peter Crouch in particular. Can't remember the exact quote but apparently the person that ran it was saying 'look at how this player has his arms everywhere when he jumps and uses his height badly' or something. He's telling referees to focus on players' either physical or mental approach to the game when it comes to discipline, and I agree that it certainly isn't a black & white approach but you can't have an uneven approach like that.

Just said 'next week'. I also read somewhere that (Pie & M)Ashley was coming in to discuss transfers with Pardew either today or tomorrow.. so I guess it'll get rubber stamped then.

Leon Best sporting the Caped Crusader look.
-
When was this out of interest? Judging by how ill he looks I'd be surprised if he can finish a hot dinner currently.
-
Nolan receiving his final match orders from the kid mascot I see. Nice for him to lead him to the pitch aswell so he doesn't get lost.
-
Oh and by the way... 5 minutes? Have a word, Phil Mitchell.
-
When he came on against QPR last season? Did he start that one though?
-
Gutted. How can anyone be happy with Villa getting a point? Excusing Brummie obviously.
-
I've started to make my banner in preparation of this event. Poster paints and bedsheet at the ready. Sob on the Tyne? Go fuck yourself, arseholes.
-
Get in, Chelsea! Well happy with that result if it stays the same.

No Gosling on the bench. Not a bad line-up, 4-4-2. The two strikers are poor though. Not like there's much else you can do though. Ranger might be marginally better, but I expect to see him from 60 minutes onwards at the latest.
-
This just got much more interesting.
-
By that token I've seen little from Jonas, Rout or Barton to suggest they will contribute to the goals tally. Let's apply the same standards as you are applying to Ranger. At least he has the excuse that he hasn't started many games. He's scored 2 and had about 5 or 6 assists this season to be fair.
-
That's ridiculous. Whether he's playing upfront or as a holding midfielder he's dead weight. We're essentially down one man and playing at a disadvantage because he offers literally nothing for us and a few set pieces in promising positions for the opposition.
-
There's no denying he's been really poor whilst at Spurs though. Especially when you compare that to when he was at Blackburn. I think he's a decent enough player but was massively overhyped based on 1, possibly 2 seasons. There's some quality in there somewhere, it's just we have the manager who can unlock that.
-
I can't really comment much on the Bolton game, but the turning point for the West Brom game in my eyes was Guthrie fucking about and kicking the floor, before that next goal we were looking good to go on and win the game, after that goal we imploded. We're always going to get a few pastings, that's the nature of the game. When you look at which players were missing from these games and where the errors came from, a lot points to injuries and a lack of depth in terms of quality. Thing is we'll never sort this out under the current owner because he's a tight fisted cunt.

How far away from serious pressure was CH? I think CH would've garnered significantly more support through the bad periods due to his previous achievements and the general goodwill towards the fella. Nobody expected miracles of him. If an 'Experienced Manager' is recruited as an improvement over the status quo then naturally pressure will be higher and patience lesser. If he came with more gravitas then the argument would naturally be to give him time (see the argument for Hodgson from some quarters) but his previous clubs have been Reading, Southampton, Charlton etc so he'll find himself with very limited public support should results go against him. That and the fact he's an Ashley man. I agree that AP probably won't receive a huge amount of patience but I'm not so sure how things would have panned out for CH. The performances against Bolton and WBA had been very poor and any thought that we might rely on away form to stay up was blown (and yes some did seem to be relying on that). He wasn't too many poor results away from being under serious pressure imo. Yeah, but he had several key players out - this is a definite factor in them results.
-
Nah, if the player was being considered he'd be "a player we're very much aware of".
-
Ironically I read these comments via twitter. Someone needs to have a quiet word in Pardews' ear, because he just can't be giving away first team info like this.
-
Schmeichel required counselling after witnessing that leg break.
-
He loves the fans. All the get well soon cards clearly had an effect on him. Watched the compilation of him against Everton the other day again. Phenomenal.

Your heart isn't in this anymore, is it.
