The biggest advantage of Barton leaving is that we now have pace and an evident threat on either flank (whether that be from Obertan or Marveux). Makes us far more dangerous tbh.

This. Really delighted at the news and thoroughly deserved as far as I'm concerned.

Who'd have thought our midfield would look so much better by replacing Nolan with a player who can run, tackle and pass? I also meant we could very well have signed someone and kept Nolan too. Pards said Nolan didn't want to sign as a back-up player, which he clearly would have become this season. We did well selling him. Also think to have had him on the bench, with his stature and reputation, would have meant him being brought on at the expense of arguably better players who could change a game. That said, I really would like to see some defensive 'back-up' on the bench in Jan. We've a lot of players who could win us a game, but very few who could help us see a game out if necessary. I haven't seen him yet but I believe Abeid's going to be given the understudy role for Tiote. Was very promising when I saw him at Forest, I thought. Very neat and tidy. There's certainly potential there and hopefully a lot more to come from him.

This. Sadly I can see QPR spunking a load on a striker in Jan if they're struggling for goals. They'll stay up I reckon. Villa are dogshit at the mo, however. Zero initiative going forward.

This Cardiff - Leicester game is utterly dull.

Who came off? Where is Barf playing?

Would look better if there was a bit more of a gap between the 'Newcastle United' and SD signs.

At the end of the day, we're not playing too badly with the first 11 as it is. If we were struggling and needed a bit of magic I'd say there would be greater cause to start him but I think it's exactly the right thing to do to ease him in. Defo needs to come on at 60 mins on Saturday though.

What's he said recently? (Have not got twitter)

Same here. Nothing vicious or vindictive. If I remember correctly it was only being sung by about 8 blokes on the way out of the stadium.

In a nutshell. Whilst we've still not got a proper left back on the pitch it makes the idea of switching Jonas pretty pointless.

Agreed with Interpolic's ratings. Thought Gosling was uncomfortable on the right and offered next to nothing. Abeid played well I thought - though I think we lacked a physical presence in the middle that Tiote usually offers. Disappointed in Fergie, thought there were times he could have had a run or make a simple pass and instead tried to hoof it long, but he's still young and had just come back from injury so it's not surprising he was rusty. Watching Perch and Colo at the back was like chalk and cheese. Really showed what a classy player Colo is. Controlled, calm, strong in the air. Contrast with Perch who looked very uncomfortable on the ball. Wouldn't necessarily say he was utter dog shite last night but it was clear that he is essentially a Championship standard player.

This guy was absolutely immense last night. Forest looked shit scared everytime he got the ball. Like HBA, his touch, technique and passing were superb. Such a shame that we didn't have an equal threat on the right hand side of midfield with Gosling wanting to drift in. Got great end product too. Looking like another good buy.

Agreed. A top top player. Calm and collected on the ball and also beginning to grow into the captain's role. Leads by example. Tremendous player. Let's just hope he's given another contract this year - he's simple invaluable to us at the moment.
-
Was a privilege to see him play last night. His close control, touch, vision and passing were sublime. Considering that was his first game back I think he played exceptionally. Love the bloke.

Can't fucking wait to see them tonight.
-
Saw the highlights today having watched the game yesterday, that Suarez really is a fucking twat. Good player, but a big fucking twat. Doglish is also a cunt.

Pardew absolute must give Ferguson a chance, particularly at this level. We need to see what the guy can do at LB on a more regular basis, especially if Santon's knee might once again flare up. Would love to see us play a passing game similar to Saturday as well. Regardless of what team is put out, we have the capacity to cause them problems.

So is the plan to start him or to bring him on as a sub?
-
Nottingham is a 45 minute to an hour drive away so cba with doing that tomorrow. Will ring in the morning. Hopefully I can book them then and collect them from the ground on the evening of the game. If anyone knows if that's possible say or forever hold your peace. That's what I'm doing. Driving up and collecting an hour or so before kick-off.

Lampard looks like a complete passenger today.
