True, but did we ever truly build a PL squad? Too much of the dross that played for us in the Championship are still getting games for us. I'd argue that we've better individuals (on paper/reputation, at least, than a majority of squads in the Prem. imagine what a manager like Laudrup could do with a squad like ours. I do agree though. Willo, Simpson, Jonas along with shite like Obertan in no way constitute Prem quality.

Could quite easily see us doing a Wolves if we went down. Krul, Colo, MYM, Debuchy, Cabaye, Santon, Tiote, Sissoko, Cisse, HBA, Marv, would all be on their way. We'd have to pretty much build another side. Most irksome is the fact that the last time we went we had a chance to purge the team of the shite and the mercenaries, Duff, Beye, etc. This time we'd ironically be getting shot of the most talented squad of players we've had in a while. That's my main worry, it's all about momentum when you get to this stage and we look f***ing demoralised. Cisse, Cabaye, Sissoko, Debuchy, MYM, Tiote, all showing signs of real frustration on the pitch in recent games and I don't blame them for that. You sign for the club on the promise of being able to play your football and got sold a lie. Their confidence have totally evaporated and I can't see Pardew as the man to inject some drive back into them. We either have to stick with that man and hope results of Villa and Wigan go our way, or get a replacement for the remaining games hoping some fresh impetus will drive us over the line.
