  1. That is good... I like it. What's the tune? Dusty Springfield's 'Son of a Preacher Man'. Have you never heard it before?
  2. Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has signed midfielder Cristian Riveros from Cruz Azul on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sunderland/8675915.stm
  3. mackem on the Legends currently saying he wrote to SAFC to cancel his ST for next season, the club are still trying to take the money
  4. RTG isn't real life mate, don't take everything you read on there as gospel, and I work with Newcastle fans who are totally desperate to finish above us and they claim it's a small payback for all the taunting we gave you when you were relegated, like I say it's all the summers banter and bragging rights. I find it funny though how every Newcastle fan says that we have spent big money and Newcastle nothing, you'd think you are playing with a squad full of free transfers the way some of you go on. Steven Taylor, Ryan Taylor (part-ex), Shane Ferguson, Shola Ameobi and Peter Lovenkrands from yesterdays starting XI. Add to that we don't know what exactly we gave Den Haag for Krul, probably not much, then thats half the team for next to nowt.
  5. Overall reflections A crazy season. I can't remember another promoted club that has stuffed an established team 6-0, thumped their rivals 5-1 and fought back from 0-4 down against Arsenal, while also putting in some fairly shoddy performances against those around them. High Moment The 5-1, followed by the 4-4, then the 6-0. Low Moment The utter s**** that was WBA away, followed by the sacking of CH, especially given that the majority of fans still backed him. Selling Carroll comes second for obvious reasons, given the form he was in and the fact we had only a few hours to replace him. Not particularly a 'low moment' but looking back, losing at home to Blackpool, Blackburn and Stoke, and only getting draws vs. Wigan and Fulham. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing and you can say 'well getting a win/draw against so and so was a bonus' but the possible extra 11 points would have us sitting in 7th right now and would have made the season remarkable. Best Player Tiote's been a revelation for us, but Colo has been consistent all season. A real class act. Best Individual Performance I was in the US for Everton away and didn't see it, so I don't feel I can say HBA based on about 10 mins of highlights. Barton has put in some excellent shifts, particularly against Liverpool and Arsenal. Best Buy Tiote, obviously. Most Improved Barton. Simpson has done better than we all expected and Best has shown promise. However, since he signed in 2007, we've heard Barton talk the talk on a number of occasions, but now he's finally starting to walk the walk.
  6. what was he doing going to school in sunderland?! :frantic: :frantic:
  7. the 4-1 in 2005/6 season where we scored more goals at the stadium of shite than Jonathan Stead did that entire season.

  9. proper buzzing for the in-the-flesh possibility of two Ameobi's on a football pitch together. Might even take a sharpie to a bedsheet tomorrow to mark the event.
  10. hope to fuck a big chorus of 'Woooooah, Sammy Ameobi! SAAAAAAMMMMY' goes around vs WBA next week.
  11. just be glad the BBC aren't using 'One Day Like This' for the 1000000000000th time, OK? Ungrateful twats.
  12. mackems entering the end of the season party by dressing up as red seats, the crazy cats.

  17. if Motson doesn't wank himself dry when it becomes evident theres two Ameobi's on the pitch he ought to be shot.
  18. DavidGoldWHU David Gold by philmcnulty I honestly believed with the players we brought in in Jan + the imminent return of Hitzlsperger, we had done enough to pull clear of danger
  19. feel a bit sorry for McLeish. Couldn't think of much worse than being a ginger Scottish cunt.
  20. he can still earn money as an Uncle Fester lookalike, although he still has fierce competition from Ray Wilkins.
  21. DavidGoldWHU David Gold This is undoubtedly the worst moment in all the years I’ve been supporting West Ham & of course I wish I'd done things differently The response of yours truly: @DavidGoldWHU like what? Play a bigger pair of tits up front?
