  1. Of course they are and I wouldnt dream of "judging" anyone for giving their money to Plymouth Argyle. I would however suggest that the donating £10 in reality wont help keep them afloat and will go directly to creditors whereas £10 to Africa etc. will positively contribute towards buying a textbook for a school, digging a well etc. I think if people respect them for their actions when we won the league and want to help them from a footballing perspective, their donation would be a lot more beneficial if they were to purchase, for example, an "AFC Plymouth" shirt to help them set up their new club if such a hypothetical opportunity were to materialise. Fair play to anyone who does donate obviously although I'd imagine it would be a waste.
  2. Clearly people are entitled to do what they want with their money, and this is just my opinion. But, how much is a Newcastle United fund likely to raise? £1000 tops? Theyve got a £17m debt, its not even the tip of the iceberg. I'm no bankruptcy expert but I doubt it would make any difference to whether or not they go under and if they do, the money just goes to creditors such as the taxman, football agents, and other clubs to settle transfer debts. Plymouth seem like a nice club, and I hope they pull through but in my opinion if people want to do something worthwhile football related, give it to the SBR foundation, football foundation etc.
  3. Nothing against Plymouth Argyle, but I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to donate their hard earned cash to a commercial organisation like a football club, when it could go to any other more worthy causes, cancer, Africa etc. If they are that badly off anyway, peoples cash would more than likely end up paying off creditors ie the taxman, footballers wages, outstanding transfer fees.
  4. tottenham hotspur 2-3 newcastle My birthday. Brilliant day!
  5. Derby away 3-0 loss Gillingham's ground is the biggest pile of shite Ive ever been to
  6. went to villa v blackburn earlier in the season where santa cruz got stretchered off on oxygen and the holte end were chanting "let him die, let him die, let him die"
  7. Tottenham in the CL > Man City in the CL > Liverpool in the CL
  8. Weve got 41 points and were 9th. Even if we lose our last 4 games Id say weve exceeded our expectations, if we get 2 wins at home ill be dead chuffed
  9. Agreed, I wonder if Jonas could offer something different? Or more likey its because we havent got anyone to get on the end of them. How many goals did we score in the first half of the season from carroll headers from FKs or Nolan tap ins?
  10. Speaking to a West Ham fan who'd been a season ticket holder all his life but couldnt afford to continue it due to the dramatic price hikes. Apparently its all rich londoners there now which is a right shame. Can understand people wanting to watch lower league football more, as to some extent I have started doing.
  11. national rail says they are running a reduced service between new street and lichfield
  12. If we put all our men behind the ball first half and soak up pressure, get it to 0-0 at HT, that might well be our best option. Atmosphere will go flat and hopefully the fans get on their backs.
  13. Apparently its "12th man day" or something like that at Villa Park for our game. Fans organising to bring scarves and make a noise and the like. Could buoy the players but similarly if we can get it to 0-0 at half time, they might get on the players backs
  14. No booking for Don Tiote. COuld be a vital player against Stoke
  15. an anagram of "newcastle united" is "dense wet lunatic"
  16. our fixtures against liverpool, Everton and Aston Villa will be key
  17. It's not out of the question we could finish 6th. It's not out of the question we could finish 7th, and that Man City or L'pool win the Europa league. Until the season ends, we want to be looking at finishing as high as possible, but seeing as the aim was to stay up, provided we acheive that, we have to be satisfied with this season.
  18. So if Arsenal win today, and one of the top 6 win the FA cup, 7th in the premiership will qualify for Europe? In that case, we're 3 points off 6 and 1 point off 7th with a superior goal difference with 10 games to go. Everton and Aston Villa breathing down our necks but realistically we've got a chance along with Liverpool, Bolton, Sunderland, Everton, Stoke and Villa.
  19. Finally sense! 4 year contract left and one of our outstanding players this season. If he wants out, and the big rich clubs come knocking, why would we want to sell him for less?
