  1. I was out drinking last night in the living room on grey street and half the team were there boozing. Apparently it was a celebration for Oba's birthday. Obafemi, Geremi, NZogbia, Taylor, Emre Habib Beye were all there. There were lots of half naked blonde birds prancing about too, much to Geremi/Beye's delight! Tuncay Sanli of boro also turned up with emre . Some guy asked Taylor "why arent you playing anymore? you are better than faye" He nodded without really saying much in response. Taylor's attitude to drunk fans annoying him was spot on, just smiled and took loads of photos with them.
  2. The main plus point for Anelka is that he can play in almost any combination, since he has strength and pace. Anelka and Martins upfront would scare the majority of defenders im sure. I think we may be in a pickle regarding owen this summer. He will have only 1 year left on his contract ( i think? correct me if im wrong?) His release clause supposedly lowers again. We could be in a position where we have to sell him. Bolton look doomed under 'Mr Bolton Wanderers football club' and have a good chance of going down. Anelka could be an ideal replacement if we were forced to sell Owen.
  3. This topic reminds me of when i got made to look like a complete fool against Michael McKay, who used to play for Consett Town but now plays for Hartlepool (and scored against Carlisle a couple of days ago). He megged me and made me look like a complete mug. He is the quickest and most skillfull player i have ever come across- which is a bit worrying considering he does not even get into the starting XI for a league 1 side. Makes me think how good premiership players really are!!
  4. Keep your legs together Goofy. Just foul them when they try to go past
  5. Gary Speed was always a fave of mine. Those thighs
  6. On a kind of similar note: Ugliest Newcastle players (past and present): I reckon a top 3 of: Andy "concorde" O' Brien Clarence Acuna Peter Beardsley
  7. Harper - 7.5: Great saves by Harps Beye- 7.5: A great first showing by the new lateral one. Liked the little run and cross in the first half Rozenhal - 6.5: Lost a few headers but when he did lose them, he at least did enough to put off ashton. Deals with low crosses very well (the kind of crosses Titus would daisy cut into the net) Cacapa 6.5: Steady showing from the samba man Nzogbia 8.5: Crossing can be taught to milner. Once the bull slots in at left back, Zoggy is going to run riot. Smith: 6.5 Plays better with more hair. Not all that effective in midfield but still gave a decent display. Played well up front at the end. If owen and viduka are out, i'd pair smithy with Oba. He couldnt do worse than number 23. Butt 7.5 : why did he not play like that against derby Germei 7: See above , but to a lesser extent Milner: 6.5 - Not quite jimmys day but 100% for effort Owen 6 - Quiet Viduka 9 - Absolute class. Great first touch, linked up the play superbly. Unplayable when in this kind of form. So effective when we play to his strengths and pass to his feet rather than aimless hoofs. Basically this performance was the complete opposite of Ameobi's against derby

    Today's Games

The refereeing at Old Trafford is always a complete farce. Shocking decision
  9. TIme for some match ratings on that shower i think: Harper - 5 : Seemed to waste time with his kicks when we needed to get back in it. Looked a bit flat footed for the goal but didnt really have a chance Taylor- 5 : Pretty poor display, lacked composure at times Cacapa- 5 : Thought he could have done better for the goal and sometimes seemed to give howard too much time Rozenhal- 5: At times did not look too composed. Missed a sitter but to be fair did really well to get there in the 1st place NZogbia- 4 : The fans favourite had a shocker. What boots does this guy wear??? He was like an ice skater for the majority of the match. His set plays were woeful Milner - 6 : The only player with an ounce of creativity. Tried his best to make things happen. Geremi: 4 : Seemed to slow the midfield down together with butt. No fluidity at all Butt: 4 Formed an invisible midfield combo with Geremi Smith: 4 - Slid about to show commitment to the cause, whilst not actually using his brain. Captain Owen: 5 - Woeful service to Owen. Having played with the england lads last week he must have felt like he was playing in the Blue premier tonight. Ameobi: 2.5 - An abysmal performance. Did not hold the ball up, hold possession nor engage his brain in any of his play. Im not quite sure what he does in training, maybe the others are just not trying which makes him look half decent. Allardyce: 4 - What were you playing at Big Sam Setanta Camera team: 10 - Great directing to miss the derby goal so i can pretend it never happened.
  10. That was giles de bilde, who also played for wednesday. I just looked him up on wiki and found this about him: "De Bilde's arrival on the pitch as a second half substitute brought instant cat calls from Wednesday fans and a serenade of "Gilles de Bilde, can he fix it? Gilles de Bilde, can he f*ck""
  11. Their bench is so strong because rafa doesn't pick his best team in the starting XI Very strong squad though agreed.

    Graeme Le Saux

Being ginger. They are the only group left who have no protection and any gags will always be viewed as harmless banter. You don't have a choice whether you are a ginger tosser or not either.
  13. Loving that optimisim, that would be our best run since Roeders end of season heroics/luck in the 2005/2006 campaign
  14. I thought the point of splitting the premier league into 'mini leagues' was to group teams together who compete with each other for similar spots in the league!! Does this mean there is absolutely no matter how Arsenal play there is absolutely no chance of them finishing anything other than 4th!
  15. You guys are touching on advanced economic theories and Alfred Chandler's Strategy vs Structure debate. Its all very deep.
  16. Most downbeat post thus far. If we had not won you would be slitting your wrists by the sounds of it! Most dissapointing aspect of the game today was the farcical turnstyle scenario for getting into Level 7. I got to the game at 2.40 and still missed the first ten minutes of the game. The queue for our turnstyle was about a mile long yet numerous other turnstyles had no queues at all but were for electronic season ticket holders only. At 3.10 the stewards decided to let us go through these turnstyle gates instead, without even showing our tickets. It was an absolute farce and the system needs sorting out.
  17. Just got back from the game. I think it was a massive win, a draw against ten man wigan would have been awful and the doom merchants would have been at it until Derby. It was a frustrating match which we dominated and should have won comfortably. Not quite sure why the Roz got the sponsors man of the match. Him and Cacapa played well enough but hardly had anything to do against a non existant Wigan attacking unit. Can anyone give me the lowdown on the sending off?? I was up with the Gods in level 7 and it just looked like a clash of heads from there.
  18. Smith isn't sharp of front anymore, Owen and Viduka are injury prone and Oba will be away for 3 weeks at the start of next year. We'll need Shola this season and he's been looking good pre-season. He's been good in training also.... apparently
  19. Aye, spend even more of the clubs money when he will f*** off to another club next season. As for all this sympathy, boo hoo, he's a tosser. Can't remember him playing good 3 times, and cost us s*** loads of points so f*** off. I have to admit i reckon it will be an NHS job for Rammy rather than the 5 star Steadman treatment in Colorado. I love it how players are "tossers" just because they aren't very good! Good luck Ramage, probably the last game he has played for us but I hope he goes on to have a good career somewhere else.
  20. 6.75m seems a little steep considering Dede's age. Improvement on Huntington though!
  21. Was brilliant at Cardiff, never fit at villa. Possibly a useful squad player but if he is never fit I couldn't really see the point.
  22. Huntingtons positional sense at left back was poor. On numerous occasions he let his man get goal side of him. BSA has to make a proper left back a priority. Pattison didn't look up to it again. Apart from that i thought it was an encouraging performance.
  23. Deco would be an unbelievable replacement. Have other clubs expressed an interest in him, because i have not really seen him linked to many clubs. I would have thought there would be a host of clubs interested in him. In an unrelated point, i find it amusing to call steed malbranque, Steve Malbranque.
  24. Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, as im sure it has, but can anyone give me some information about the card system for season tickets next season. Does this mean i will not be able to sell on my ticket if i cannot make a particular game? Cheers
  25. The general mood on this board seems to be Dyer = Dogshit Lampard = Dogshit so I suppose Dyer=Lampard is plausible. Dyer = dogshit Lampard = Dogshit + end product
