  1. Arteta has created this. Similar to Klopp, if a ref makes a borderline decision against his team it's the top sports news story for the next week. It's all intended to pressurise refs from making calls against them in future, whilst often distracting from a poor performance or defeat. From memory, I cannot remember Howe ever going down this route, which he deserves great credit for.
  2. Schar cannot be leaving that ball, even if a teammate gives an instruction to do so.
  3. The perception is in the context of past referee decision making. I can't remember a foul like that being given as a red card. They are always given as yellows. The contact stopped a breakaway but had little force. I think it was a shocker, but funny because it was Arsenal. Just a shame wolves were too crap to take advantage.
  4. His all round play was superb during his time here. In particular his link up with Beardsley.

    Joelinton

I rate Anderson's technical ability very highly.

    Joelinton

Particularly against the more technical teams where Joelinton's bulldozing can be less effective
  7. If Bruno plays it first time it is not an issue. Bruno chooses to take the risk which invariably does in those situations. I would hazard a guess that is half a dozen goals caused by Bruno now in similar fashion
  8. Yep. The Gabriel incident was magnified post match by arsenal fans performing mental gymnastics by realising that the ball wasn't out of play, and there was no offside, so that was the last remaining argument to demonstrate the systematic refereeing conspiracy against their historic club.
  9. Amusing that Arsenal fans are so blinkered by their weird love in for Isak, that despite being the biggest moaners in the world football, they didn't seem too bothered about his nudge in the build up to goal. If Joelinton had been involved in a potential foul in the build up to the goal, like he was at last years win at SJP, they would be releasing statements after the game and threatening strike action.
  10. The change to 5-5-0 formation and a low block was a masterstroke
  11. Fuck off matterface If arsenal take 2 mins to arrange each corner, Dubs can do the same for his goal kicks
  12. We need to keep pressing Lewis-Skelly, he is taking risks and I have a feeling it could bite him in the arse
  13. Ref gives free kick and yellow for that but nothing for trossard yanking down Isak in the same position
  14. Isak swap deal for their set piece coach
  15. What is the ball in play time for these fuckers? Each free kick or corner involves a 2 minute setup.
  16. Trent being distracted by a juicy Real Madrid contract also helped
  17. It's a frustrating situation as a spurs fan because the ball accidentally hitting Joelinton's hand is the difference between a potential Spurs counter and a Newcastle goal. But, it's not an injustice in anyway and the rules, which are the same for all teams, have been applied correctly. Whilst the current interpretation of the handball rule is not perfect, it was worse before when accidental handball in the build up phase was seeing goals ridiculously ruled out (e.g. Callum Wilson at Liverpool).
  18. Not dissimilar to when Arteta said it was a "disgrace" but when pushed could not provide any specificity whatsoever
  19. Judging by what we saw against West Ham, Kelly at CB is highly concerning
  20. Not necessarily stupid. Depends on the interest rate implied by selling the loan and how that compares to alternative forms of finance.
  21. Alice's analysis of NUFC is always streets ahead of any of the NUFC YouTube/Podcasts.
  22. No need for Casemiro to cry at anything when he has a £20m contract until his mid thirties.
