Thought the ref got all the pen calls for both teams correct. The Bruno one was somewhat annoying as the clash of heads makes no impact on what follows but it was a foul.

Brentford are a functional team with decent individuals but their manager is a bellend and their free kicks into the box and long throw-ins make for a grim watch.

Demonstrating FMV for an asset like a women's football team, where the market is relatively small but growing rapidly, is very tricky. There is no right answer. It is also easily manipulated. Chelsea accountants can play around with the future growth assumption and terminal value and it will magnify the valuation significantly. PL have got themselves into this mess by turning football into a bookkeeping game. Bookkeeping involves judgement which can be manipulated. There will always be loopholes and as soon as one is closed another will open. Chelsea are just playing the game that the EPL created.

Not sure if them losing was good or bad in terms of our chances on Sunday but I enjoyed it either way

PSG look both fitter and better technically on the ball. Unfortunately means nothing in the context of Sunday's game

Interviewer was trying to point out an inconsistency between Kilman decision and Bowen's desperate penalty claim when she actually proved they were entirely consistent - i.e VAR does not get involved in things like this anymore

Liverpool vs. Newcastle United: 26/02/25 @ 20:15 (TNT Sports)

I'd expect this to be precautionary factoring in the slim likelihood of getting a result anyway and the fact the final is around the corner. Still absolutely grim that we effectively write a fixture off when we are in the middle of a champions league battle. -
Fair enough, I'll bow to your judgement having seen him far more than I have.

He has just turned 22 and looks reasonably good with his back to goal and hold up play. I'd say there is definitely a player in there.

Game management (by the players not Howe) was as bad as I have seen by a Newcastle team for many years. Nobody took control. Nobody played the dark arts. We were rushing all our passes despite have either a three of two goal cushion for most of the half. One of those wins which is a decent result but leaves me with less faith in the team.

It is ridiculous because amortisation is an accounting concept designed to spread capital expenditure over the useful life of an asset and NOT intended to be shoehorned within a calculation to determine sustainability. Sustainability is determined by the balance sheet and projected cashflow of an organisation and has nothing to do with accounting policies such as amortisation. Amortisation is typically stripped out when assessing sustainability because it can be manipulated by accounting policies. Hence the use of EBITDA as a metric (Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) .

Great goalkeeping - Nunez was heading towards the corner flag

Probably giving Merson too much credit here but if his point is that the pool of teams that Isak could go to is very small, given that it would have to be a champions league team, who don't currently have a top striker, and have the the necessary PSR headroom, he is correct. However, the fact he doesn't mention Liverpool (who have Nunez and an out of contract Salah) and he throws Villa in the mix, tells me that Merson is doing his typical thing of thinking that the whole world revolves around his former teams.

Ton of money seriously boosted by our ownership group ironically enough

I am sure the "it's too late to take a corner because the alloted injury time minutes have already passed" rule only applies when we are on the attack and not the other way round

Wayne Routledge went on to have over 250 appearances for Swansea, mostly in the premier league, and played and assisted in their 2013 League Cup victory. We were mostly dogshit during this same period.
