Why play Marveaux on the right and Sissoko in the middle, instead of the other way around?

NSIS I'd have said Cabaye but while he disappeared over both legs Cisse turned up. Why only consider the two matches with Benfica? How about the likes of Ben Arfa, Mbiwa, Cabaye (indeed) or Krul? If anything I'd say the big clubs will look at Cisse's lack of consistency and steer well clear. Ben Arfa, too injury prone. Mbiwa, hasn't shown enough yet. Cabaye, too many times he has games like against Benfica. Didn't think about Krul, maybe. Cisse is the most likely, Bayern were strongly interested before he came here. I would put Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Sissoko, Yanga-Mbiwa and Krul as more likely to succeed at a top club. Ben Arfa, Sissoko and Yanga-Mbiwa also had interest from a lot of clubs before coming here btw.

I find it quite amazing that only 29% ('yes' and 'never lost any') have faith in Pardew, despite him leading us to our highest league position in 8 years and the quarter finals of the uefa cup.

The only question to ask is whether to safe some players for the mackems or not, maybe substituting some at half time, if we are not leading. For me there it is all about the Benfica game. Mackems come and go, and league position is safe enough, but a european cup run, with an actual shot at a title! Fucking hell, we should prioritize the shit out of that Benfica game, having everyone bleeding, bandaged and still fighting at 90th minute.

Two hours and ago I would have been over the moon with drawing any of those 7, and I still would be. We have noone to fear but ourselves.

I guess technically they are, unless time stands still in Portugal. If you'd ever been to Alentejo, you would know that it actually does.

If we had Vieira, I'd play him. Question is if he works as hard as Tiote or Anita. I'm not saying it's the best formation or his best position, it's just a tactical possibility. No I don't think he would. "Work hard" sounds bad but Siss and yaya just aren't all that switched on defensively imo. For some games, such as Stoke, definitely. Don't think it's Siss long-term position. I think we agree then, because it is exactly for game like Stoke, that I think that formation would be a good idea. I do think he would hold his own defensively in that role, he does have an amazing engine, as well as the physical attributes.

If he wants the Vieira role, maybe this when HBA is back: Cisse Gouffran Marveaux Ben Arfa Cabaye Sissoko With Sissoko doing all the tiote work, but occasionally taking runs, while Cabaye then sits back and distributes.
