  1. I requested to be moved next to my two mates into the singing section, if not, I wanted a single seat in Gallowgate or Leazes as up where I am currently (one block of L7 Milburn) the prices are EXACTLY the same as sitting in the afore mentioned stands...to hell with that. I put my contact details down, and a covering letter stating exactly what I wanted, along with CC number et al and submitted them along with the other 2 lads. Still not heard anything about it, no money has been taken out. Any one heard anything of what I presume would be classed as voluntary moves?
  2. People (press) turned on us when we played Stevenage Borough in the FA Cup. We offered the game to be played at St James's Park with all match proceeds (minus overheads) to go to Stevenage. Their Manager refused and called us a big bullying club with no respect for the lower divisions or grounds, then the press turned the whole thing into a mass debarcle and made us look like complete arseholes. Although, these days when it happens absolutely F All is said by any manager or the press. So much for being kind!
  3. I reckon our 3rd strip from last season was the key to him penning the deal In all seriousness, I've only ever heard of this guy due to the Spiderman thing...mental! Lets hope KK has pulled one out of the bag here!
  4. I aint heard about my request to be moved yet. Hoping it is this week.

    Oba And Out

Slow news day in the gutter press. Not a single quote relating to what they state and not a single shred of evidence. It must be so hard for the press these days.
  6. I'd rather have these two to be honest... nevermind, if everyone chooses our favourate video site and types in Ronaldinho Eng they will see....a certain Mr Ray Hudson commentating. Cringeworthy!
  7. Whey I see him being able to adapt to a holding midfielder role...he's strong, good tackler and can play some fantastic passes to the attack.
  8. Schwiensteiger - not given as much credit as he deserves, would be a fantastic replacement for Nicky Butt. Pavlyuchenko - Fantastic player, would be great holding the line, fantastic replacement for 'Dukes. Zhirkov
  9. Left work today and the peeps in my department chipped in to get me this along with the free ticket offer for the valencia game Awesome!
  10. In all truth, the BO said they will announce it when they go on general sale AFTER they have dealt with current ST applications & moves. I'm sure they will let you know as soon as that is done.
  11. pretty sure we used Newcastle Easts colours when we became 'united' then we moved onto 'wests' colours in 1904...I could be wrong mind
  12. Me n the lads were tempted by Mallorca...but at 250snots for flights only, its a no go.
  13. Aye...I am Freddy Shepherd - promising trophy signings to appease fans and boost ticket sales. That was the whole point of this thread!! I think there is a fine line between realistic and negative, perhaps some percieve a realistic approach as negativity, but I made this thread hopefully to pinpoint the abundance of negativity that has been around since Chelski/Modric after events, and to try and add a bit of a positive spin on things. Im a bit fed up of being 'down' about our club I mean ffs...the Modric thread is still going!
  14. its like an addiction to tabs...keep saying i cant justify the money but then think of how much it means to me and how much i try to enjoy the game. that coupled with the season ahead will hopefully be better than last year...
  15. Glad Ive sparked a little bit of a debate. Dont get me wrong, I'm realistic as stated, but I just think at times the negativity is a little excessive - just trying to restore a bit of confidence and faith in our club (albeit very little at the moment).
  16. I honestly think the mood on these boards since Keegans 'outburst' (I use that term loosely due to it was the harsh truth, nothing more) after the Chelski game has been far too negative. Even the targets we have been linked with are often filled with "We wont get him" comments. What happened to the constant Geordie Optimism? The light hearted humour? Threads like the 'Whats to come' thread, do not lighten the mood (even if they are meant in jest) and certainly do not make us look any more respectable for any other clubs visitors. Us Geordies have a special connection when it comes to football. We take everything that is said/written and spoken about our football club to heart and are so passionate, that even when it comes to losing out on players to a club in a better position, we go off on a tirade (albeit in some respects light hearted) against the player and other clubs. I fully understand and often feel this way but I try not to let it get to me and go "off on one" letting rip on internet forums. Speculation on these forums has been rife recently, some positive but mostly negative. Whilst I understands people frustrations and definitely do not believe we are a 'top 4' club, we are still an attractive prospect with recognition around the world (even though "we've never won f all" etc. I have been to at least 7 different countries within the past 5 years, where (when wearing my Newcastle top), I have been approached by random Hungarians, French, Italians, Greeks, Spanish, Germans & Dutch, all of which are aware of our relative success in Europe in the past and some are even under the impression we still challenge for the league every season. For some to say the likes of Manchester City are a better proposition than us is just daft. Yes they are in Europe next season, but seriously, when players find out it isnt 'THE' Manchester...who'd honestly fancy it? Only Everton/Spuds & Aston Villa have any where near as much right to be where we are & where we are heading. I know we are not in Europe next season, and we probably will not be the season after unless we buy some very decent and able new additions, but have we really sunk that low? Are we really now at rock bottom? So much so that Keegan cant work his magic and tempt those 'hidden' gems to come to Newcastle United? I very much doubt it. 3 Shitty seasons in a row do not wipe out the stature of this club. Media slagging and constant speculation cannot break what our club stands for and our past achievements (or 'nearly' achievements) have to count for something. We have a nice solid foundation to work from now. The correct infrastructure, training, pricing (yes I know ticket prices have went up, but in comparison to other teams, not by much), youth development & fanbase to provide any player who enjoys playing football, wearing a clubs colours with pride & wanting to win something, a fantastic place to be. My only negativity is coming from the lack of communication from the top. Although I believe the constant rumours about 'wage cutting' 'suit purchasing' 'no transfer kitty' are all related to how little information the press are given, the lack of clarity/mission statement from the board is a bit strange. But then again...why should they announce it to anyone other than the manager/staff hierarchy? I'm guessing other people have different opinions on the above, hence the thread...Am I alone in trying to hold my head up high and looking positive or am I looking into this far too much?
  17. I think its personally plausible, but overtly negative considering the circumstances.
  18. Were using Oliver quotes as evidence now? I'd imagine if there are signings to be made soon, he will pop over to the ground/training/wherever - jeeesus wept people The Comical are exactly that...which piece of shoddy journalism was this fantastic sentence attached to...
  19. Opposite of what we were told. They said that they would not know the situation for moving people around until all applications where in...i.e. how many tickets they would have spare and how to wangle/move people around as such if required. We shall await with baited breath.
  20. I'd imagine he got the flight to Amsterdam from the states and then a flight across to here...like alot of people do?
  21. KK is back by the way chaps and chappettes...just got a text off my mate who works in the airport - got back on the 'dam flight - wonder if he's been sampling amsterdams delights?
  22. As far as Im concerned, the bloke has wiped out the clubs debt, he can put the bloody thing their if he wants (even if it does look shite)
