I must admit, I have kept relativity quite during this whole saga, so here is my two penneth...sorry for the lengthy read. Whilst I normally agree with .com 100%, I still feel 12m (even with some addons/percentage to Leeds) is a very decent amount for a player who has, not for lack of trying, not improved vastly since his first spell at Villa. Yes he has been steadfast, has grafted, kept his head down and got on with things, but unfortunately statistics prove (oooo BSA time) that he is not that much of a Key Player/Match Winner. His goals per season ratio is poor, as is his assists. I thought the idea of being a winger was to provide your strikers with crosses/passes to bring them goals. Forgive me if I'm wrong mind you. I admire his commitment, his determination and his ability to take on a player, but for 12million its hard to say no given the above. Let us not forget, although he was not on 'soopa' wages, he still most likely earns more in a week than all of us do in a year. And I agree he should have been on a par with Taylor wages wise, I don't believe putting a transfer request is a mature way to go about things (neither is Taylor's dad going to the Comical mind). But there's ways and means, time and a place. Yes forcing the clubs hand is a way to go about things if you are a key player, but a squad player has less leeway. Imagine me or you going to the boss and saying, I'm leaving unless you pay me more than I'm worth... Tara! I wish the lad all the luck in the world, and maybe MON can develop him into a better player. As long as our manager, players and fans see the benefit from this sale then I do not have a problem with it. In KK we trust. It's going to be an interesting couple of days to say the least.

Milner should be in that article for a start. Crazy isnt it... I can honestly say I'm pretty thick skinned when it comes to the media, but the sheer stupidity and lack of anything geniune or evidence to say otherwise has me utterly bewildered. How people are employed with such utter garbage they claim as 'work' is beyond me. They are wrong on all of those transfers, even the scum getting Healy.

Whilst I rated Milner quite highly and believed he was a very good squad player...12million pounds is a fucking steal.

I hope you wrote that like that on purpose?

Don't think I'll even lower myself to respond with an argument. All I am going to say is that its quite amusing. And they call us deluded?
-
Aye, read them ages ago but they are brilliant. Good insight into Keegan, the team and how much fun they seem to have had under him. I'd imagine it will be still a little similar these days too.

thats this match fucked then...

When you see pictures of the team training, smiling, joking and having a laugh you know there is good thing going on. Thankfully Keegan knows how to manage his players. I originally didnt want him back, but im bloody glad he's here now. Keegan is part of Newcastle, and even though he's from Donny, he understands this club and (to coin the phrase) loves it more importantly. I can't wait personally for every game, im refeshing these boards, SSN and (shitty though it is) newsnow every 10minutes at work just to find out the latest developments. Its also quite nice to see actual football being played again at SJP.

sounds...err promising

Not sure if we are after another stirker...a striker would do nicely mind you!

Slap bang in the middle of the corner...if i look directly up the middle 'line' of the roof to the corner is above me. If that makes any sense

What the f*** do they go to the match for then? A quiet w*** in the corner, followed by a grotty pie at half time? I'm not slating those who wanted to move for cheaper seats, but christ on a bike...will they join in with at least cheering the team and maybes the odd song? I think it's coz they've just been sat in a quiet area of the ground where not much singing/shouting etc. goes on. Over the years they've just became conditioned that way. I got a shock when I sat with them one game last season. As I was shouting random outbursts I was just getting looked at like I was an idiot. I was glad to be back in my seat next game. You never know, sitting with a louder part of the crowd might give them a new perspective on things. I hope so mate. Last season I was sat around the same types...being looked at as if I was mental. Just glad I can go along now and know that I wont look as much of a mental case, watch some football, get behind the team and have a bit of a sing song.

Manure away was sold out. Also, I think too big a deal is being made about this attendance malarkey. Lets put it in perspective...I watched the Stoke highlights and spotted empty seats. There first home game in the top flight for god knows how long, and they have empty seats... I'm guessing its more to do with financial situations around and I believe the article on http://www.true-faith.co.uk/tf/editorials.nsf/ab283684d03f231d80256b520047d321/5640c40d996db202802574af003da2b2?OpenDocument tends to explain a little more. I'm not one for covering old ground but heres my summary as to why the attendance was 5k approx less than normal: Playing the most anti-footballing team in the league thus people turned off as such Majority of normal household goods/food has went up Unemployment/redundancy within the region has increased due to the 'Credit Crunch' Gas/Electric bills have increased by 25% Busiest weekend for all UK airports for outgoing passengers Away support are normally allocated 2-5k tickets, Bolton bought under 1k and then sold the tickets back to Newcastle, thus turnstile tickets available. 4+ years of shite football and some people have lost faith, even those who watched our demise last season under BSA Unclear message by the Owners until the article in the official magazine, and poor circulation of this full article due to limitations on how/where to buy it. Corporate seats not being renewed All of the above have an affect on ticket sales but considering we still manage 46k+ and still had the highest attendance in the league at on Saturday is not something we should be complaining about. I'm sure after this weeks transfer activities have been concluded and our team continue grinding out decent results people will find those extra few pennies and head back up barrack road.

Good to hear that it was audible down there. Just glad to be back on home turf singing my heart out. My head was battered
-
Well, for not singing my throat is certinally fucked!!! I thought the atmosphere was decent at times up there. Glad I moved anyhow, at least I can sing and have a laugh than being looked at as if im mental. Went a bit quiet nearing the end of the first half and was muted with sporodic chants until Given saved the pen, then it exploded. Was quality for the last 25 minutes. I'm not slating other parts of the ground, but hopefully we can get some of them chanting again next match at home eh? Gallowgate especially.
