    Anelka

would love huntelaar as well, but think he has better options and we dont have the £££ to complete the deal

    Anelka

if we get anelka in january at beginning of his 30 year... and ameobi leaves, it would be perfect... quality switch, especially with owen and viduka injuried every other match! however anelkas advancing years speaks against him, question is if he can maintain quality and pace over time... any later than janary, if not a freebie or a insane low amount, i wouldnt take him attackers carrers usually "ends" at the age of 32 keep that in back of your mind before you will do anything to sign him!
  3. awh.. remember pre season matches, everybody was happy and singing shaolas got a brand new hip.....
  4. very true. i cant see any of our current regular reserve players making it in the the first team. at least half of them are terrible. well, we still have a couple of pretty good ones
  5. Agreed. Harsh but fair hars, but maybe the best option for him to regain match fitness, and for those who remember last year before the operation, ameobi can be very usefull, but he have to play matches and well.... for fuck sake ameobi.. stay fit!!!!
  6. harper, i think he should be in the england squad, better then robinsons mistakes and if harper makes one, he sure makes a big one (liverpool game)
  7. i would get exited about every youngster that arrives to the club, saying he plays in 2.div in france as an 18 year old? where do you think most talented youngsters come from? they come trough the youth system at premier clubs, but where do they get all theyr players?
  8. One of our Souness-appointed scouts, no doubt, pleased to have secured the signature of a "proper" player! we really should sign borat
  9. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=486952&in_page_id=1779 Seems like I could be right. would love to see that happen, cinda like speed.. wonder how he does as a coach
  10. interesting... anyone seen or heard of him? im not so updated in le harve
  11. How much do you think Bent and Smith are worth in todays market? i think smith would go for the same.... bent... omg... impossible... freebie? hehe Bent probably scored more goals last year/the year before than Smith has in 3-4 seasons. Bent imo is worth 8 to 10 million. Smith.. much more close to what we payed for.. still pretty crap though. Smith was not an improvement on Dyer. still think 10mp is to much for bent, in jols situation (with so many strikers) and newcastles situation, where we really dont need him, i would have bought him for around 7-8mp... then i would have consideret it a bargain... still cant belive they cashed out so much for him, silly money deluxe
  12. they wont get arshavin with an bid of 12m£ at least... very underrated player in my opinion! been world class for long, but forgotten becouse he doesnt play in any of the majour leagues
  13. I wouldn't put any player into the first team, irrespective of the competition, unless I thought he had the ability to cope with being at that level. Edgar got his opportunity as did Ramage and Taylor before him, but I think it would be foolhardy to put a youngster in before he was ready, fans aren't the most considerate if a player starts playing poorly. Arsenal can get away with it because their fans are extremely tolerant with their youngsters coming through, the players are more technically gifted and 7 or 8 all going together in the Carling Cup keeps the team spirit built up in the Academy and reserves. Even then, development can be speeded up by putting players out on long term loan, Johan Djourou, Kerrea Gilbert at Southend and Carlos Vela at Osasuna are three that readily come to mind. yes. very true! however we have some youngsters who already have had theyr debuts in friendly matches! why should it hurt them so much to be tryed out in a game? i acually belive that troisi could do some better stuff than milner at certain areas! so im still hoping he will get a match or two this season Spurs have had players who promised a bit, got into the first team or on the bench, then spiralled downwards to depart soon after. Dean Marney as an attacking MF scored 2 against Everton, made the England u21 squad, then a season long loan to Norwich followed by a permantent move to Hull. Mark Yeates played a couple of times before going on loan to Swindon, Colchester and Leicester before making the move to Colchester permanent. I could mention Phil Ifil, Jamie Slabber, Lee Barnard and Jamie O'Hara who have all gone down (or are going down) a similar route. I can't recall that I've seen Troisi play anywhere so I don't know, but I would be staggered if he could offer something better than Milner with his 5years experience, his u21 credentials and not ignoring the fact that he must now be very close to making the full England squad. if milner make the full england squad, i would be really surprised. theres a lot of players in the pecking order thats much better than him, depending on how you rate milner! i would almost, and i repeat almost, say jermaine jenas has at times more to offer (omg cant belive im saying this) well, i could surely name several players who have progressed in this manner as well as you can name players who have failed after it, take rooney at everton as an class example, debut at age 16 and 250 days or so?? players will either progress or stall at some point, thats for sure, and i think there is very little managers can do to prevent this, except not putting them in until they are ready! however thats also very hard to know... this is for the manager, player, and staff to discuss of course! but there cant be harm done to a player by playing 10 minutes in a game we are 3-0 up, either in a league or a cup game? cant see that as an horrified event that would harm the players progress... remember a lot of players get theyr motivation from playing! and to have played only 10/5/2 or even 1 minute at st.james at full house could be quite exiting, i would guess surely milner has lots of more things to offer than troisi, but he also did a very early debut in the age of 16 as well (i even think he broke rooneys early youngster goal thingy?) the thing is, early debuts are not as bad as people make it out to be, but pressure of playing lots of games, and get very high expectations (see jenas again) at that age can be! so why not give it a go?
  14. in know.. but thers got to be any other shit cups we could join in at or at least take one of em with you in the squad agains shit opposition! facup coming soon? or is it the league cup?? not to updaten on wich of the cups we were beatn out of
  15. i want to see troisi get lots of matches (not full of course) and i want to se godsmarck and kazenga tryed out in 15 minutes in the league cup or smtn like that. especially if godsmarck is as fast as they all say, if not give him another year

  17. good post! however we dont have the same system as arsenal, i think we at least should try out a couple of them! im not saying we should barge in and trow our entire reserve team into the matches as that as well could destroy theyr motivation! but why not try a couple of them? three/two or even one at the cup games! never seem to happen with our team! go on big sam! make some magic!
  18. cant see why everyone thinks riise is a pile of dog crap. he is a fucking cunt, everyone knows that. but as a footballer, man, he cant be that bad. at least not for that price! (around 6m£) proven player for several years, still young, gets rarely injured, scores goals out of nowhere in important matches, quality attackin LB, dough questionable defending LB. also a versatile player (playable at LB and LW at least!) as many fear the babayaro factor (as do i) i wouldnt mind seeing him here! except from the cunt status... i fear a lot of responses now but a opinion none the less :parky:
  19. somebody should make a new tread: youngster debutants this season who would you recon to make a debut this season? who do you recon will make an impact? wich one of the youngsters can make it? a vote and some questions about where and when we should try out the youngsters. the new arse cup tryouts aye?
