Actually what he´s good at is WINNING headers and actually connecting with the ball. He's not particularly good at directing said headers though, one of his few weaknesses. Doesn't seem to know where the f*** the ball's heading after his headers... common problem for defenders. good at winning headers, but attacking headers (and creating direction/speed) is much much harder. Hangeland has the same problem (just as an easy example of an huge defender who cant score from headers)

why so tough on him? 3 managers reviewed him and didnt like him? oh come on. Keegan just met the man. then he resignet. And pisses me off when tabloids have him on all the "Worst signings of the season" lists... Ultimately he has to be considered a terrible signing though. Nearly 6 million for a guy I'd struggle to pick out from a line-up of somewhat similiar looking guys. There's other circumstances that have effected him, of course, but you can't argue with people calling him a terrible signing at this point. Why can't you argue? How many goals have we seen from our highly paid strike force this season? not enough

Go with the guy who takes £100,00 a week from the club. The guy who is supposedly our captain. The guy who is invisible all game and then doesn't score the chances he supposedly always scores. The guy who comes to training in a helicopter because he'd rather not live in the area. The guy who is always injured or not match fit. The guy who has no left foot, who cannot score from outside the box and who cannot generate the force of a feather on the ball when he shoots. The guy who never wanted to be here in the first place and can't help but remind us everytime he is on the pitch it seems. Go with that guy ... to think thats not a laughing matter

To be honest i think it looks more like a 2-3-2-1-2 formation... or a attacking 5-3-2 if you like GK CB CB RB DM LB CM CM ACM/ST ST ST From what i could see, we always had one attacking fullback, wich works best with the 4-3-3 system, but is adequate with the 5-3-2 as well. I think shearer is trying to protect our goalie by having a lot of people back, and then pushing on the counter attack (usually producing a corner where we can move more people up and snatch the winner) Problem is, the system fails miserably since we dont have players for that system... or 4-3-3... (we might at 4-3-3 if EVERYONE is match fit)
