Pardew is becoming very predictable approaching a transfer window , initially making noises about how many bodies he would like to bring in then as the end of the window draws near he backtracks whilst telling us that he hopes he loses no one. Same story as last season, on the plus side , we have not lost anyone but we have hardly strengthened with one first team midfielder while losing Guthrie, Lovenkrands and Best- for me that is 3 out and 1 in + the loss of Raylor. Overall not a depressing window for us but not a great one either and with more games to play can we be confident about this season , I think not.

Yes I agree we need another quality CB but from a number of reports I have read this guy seems like a complete spanner . If he chooses Fulham and Londinium over us this will be proof enough. Just saying that if he is likely to be a disruptive influence do we still want him !

Whichever way you look at it and no doubt there are a lot of details we are not aware of , this is very embarrassing from a club point of view and may well hinder future transfer dealings with other clubs . Why can't we just keep these things under the radar and get the deals done. My feeling is that we have been puffing our chest out too much regarding this particular transfer -well Pardew inparticular and it seems to have backfired.
