I wouldn't be surprised at all if we had more tout members than real members right now. As soon as you play some high demand games that neutrals as well as NUFC fans want to attend; Barca in the CL, makems at home, Man City numerous times a season, then it gives the touts even more of an incentive to sign up and make some dolla, dolla bills y'all. And NUFC can say all they want about banning touts if they find them. As long as we have unlimited, unvetted memberships, all season long for £40 then if they get banned they just sign straight back up again. No point putting a Ring doorbell on the front door, if you leave you back door open at all times.

Price elasticity will dictate how much they can charge for tickets. The unsold £720 tickets for the derby are a real life illustration of that happening right now. It's GCSE level Business Studies.

People buying memberships in their droves to experience the "famous St James' Park atmosphere" then entering a ballot and if they do get lucky they pay through the nose to go to a game to sit in silence or listen to someone whinge or chat about anything other than football for 90 mins. So they won't be in a hurry to go back again because it doesn't represent value for money. And that membership becomes a one off purchase that they never repeat, because they just wanted to experience a game and the experience turned out to be shit.

I think a small number of ST’s being released in summer 2022 that sold out within 10 mins isn’t worth commenting on when we’ve got 35,000 that are from pre-2021. I’d ban people from transferring tickets to a new name if someone passes away or stops going. And if any new season tickets come up because people pass away or stop going then I’d allocate to 18-25’s as a first port of call. I’d also ringfence a % of away tickets and allow 18-25 members to apply for away games and build up points. And I’d do a rolling 3-5 year away points window. People shouldn’t be allowed to horde points from over 10 years ago if they’ve stopped going to away games. Pissing in the sea, but it’s better than nowt.

Because it destroys any loyalty they had from their existing customers. Who now find themselves unable to use the product they've historically paid for and therefore walk away, which in turn reduces demand for the product and therefore overall revenue.
-
Only if you're the owner of a season ticket pre-2021. Anyone else is locked out. You can't build points if you don't have a season ticket.

Yeah, 100% the parent taking kids is more common than inheriting a ticket. But it's still ridiculous that we've frozen out a generation of young people, who can only get on the ladder if they had elders who have also been taking them home and away since pre-2021. We've created a nepotism fan base. People are locked out unless their families are also match going fans.

How can coked-up young lads have accumulated any points at all when there's been no season tickets sold for 5 years ? Either their elders bought them a kids season ticket and took them to away games pre-2021 and now they're young lads with points who can go and get coked-up. Or they've inherited a season ticket with points. If you're a young lad who wants to go and get coked-up at away games, but your elders aren't into football, you've got zero chance of going.

So grandson could have access to any away game he wants because granda went to loads of aways 20 year ago and granda has then bequeathed his ST plus the decades old points to grandson in 2026 ? Seems fair. Wish my granda had gone to the match instead of sitting in his chair on a Satda afternoon with a can of McEwans, tooting on his pipe and checking the pools.

Are loyalty points passed on ?

Just to give some context on your experience. There’s been many, many, many worse games than that. Count yourself very lucky if that’s the worst game you’ve ever attended. The atmosphere you’ve described is the same for the vast majority of games these days. And funeral home is an apt description, the demographic of match goers is largely middle to old age people. You also sat in a stand that’s notorious for being full of people who do exactly what you’ve described. The lack of vocal support is endemic around most of the ground but the East Stand is known to be the worst spot for people who turn up season after season to chat to their pals or sit in silence because it means they get a couple of hours away from the wife. The football game being played on the pitch is inconsequential. And you’re quite right that the ticket prices are ridiculous. It’s the reason why I wasn’t there last night. -

What sort of serious questions ? Would you rather be an unhappy human or a happy dog? That’s my personal favourite when it comes to philosophical debate. -

Well one of them is from Cullercoats. And three of them have the surname Taylor, but aren’t related. -

Inter, last years finalists and currently miles clear at the top of the table in Serie A, were probably delighted to draw Bodo in the knockouts. And they’re getting twatted off Bodo in the knockouts. -

If that phone call ever happened then Bruce answered it fully expecting another seven figure kerching as he got sacked once again Cunt would have been absolutely fucking devastated that Ashley didn’t fire him and he was still in a job
