Did ok to me but the lack of cross to shola when he got through in the second half was bad. Sort of player i'd normally expect to have his head up and pick out the pass. He's simply not an out and out winger and struggles to impose himself but was still a better option there than Jonas.

nar it came off Marveaux and bounced into Colo. Played well I thought, just a little out shone by the immense Mapou.

He played on with it so I assume it's just seized up now it's gone cold and he's been told not to walk on it. I fucking hope.

Just seen that Suarez decision again. Disgusting, not from Suarez but the ref! Suarez has publicly stated that he dives and he does it every single game but how on earth the ref can give that as a pen is truly baffling. Thought he made some bizarre decisions last night. Like he would go and press their right back on the ball leaving acres of space in behind for that Marlos on multiple occasions and then would take an eternity to get back. Some great runs attacking their right back at times, going inside, going outside. But he was a bit too cavalier at times.

Barely played a single long ball last night to be fair apart from the occasional Krul punt when under pressure.

All the proposed teams look decent enough until you realise we have to play Shola as the backup striker. FFS man Gouffran being cup-tied is a real ball ache and he could easily have had a big impact tonight. Especially if he had played instead of Obertan/Jonas.

It's a very tough decision for Pardew because that Southampton game could be massive. Lose it and we are right back in the shit potentially which creates a pressure on remaining games. Plus Southampton are looking a very decent team now and could beat us even if our whole team was well rested. Plus the fact our first 11 could quite easily go there and lose anyway if we have more shit decisions against us. Tough call.

If we set up to be solid and try to hit them on the counter we could easily nick a goal or 2 other there.

as i put in the other thread. Just can't see us risking the first team, or he will play the first team and use it as an excuse for us as to why we lose to Southampton.
