Pardew's reaction to the question on sky obvious confirms it all but at least it didn't seem clear cut that he's definitely off this month.

All set-up to fail on purpose? No but in an attempt to get the player to force through the deal in the way we tried with Debuchy this summer. Hopefully not and we just pay the £9m or whatever it is in £'s that they are asking.

Like the QPR game where bringing on Shola might actually be of some use. Still hope it doesn't come to that and we get a couple of early goals and make it comfortable. Need to start flying out the blocks like we did a lot in the promotion season where teams couldn't live with us and the game was over pretty quickly. I know it's very different now but readings away record is horrendous. If there is ever a time to a get a confidence boosting win it's this game.

So the usual get the player to want to come and then offer less than his value?
-
At the very least we were more defensively solid today. It was no different to a lot of performances last season except we didn't have Ba and Ben Arfa available to create something out of nothing.

11th!!!? Optimistic Nut indeed

Well thats what Pardew has been told by Derrick over the phone. In reality the goon is sat in his underwear lying on the couch with a bowl of crisps on his belly. Ashley: "who was that Derrick" Lambias: "Oh just Pardew asking about transfers, I told him we are working on some." Ashley: "Should we possibly do that?" Lambias: "Yeah, I will get to it, I'm watching tele" *reaches for the remote and stuffs crisps into his mouth. Scared me a little when Pardew said he had nothing to do with the transfers and was leaving it to lee and derek. Reminds of that thing Keegan said about having a meeting about a player and thinking everything was cool and they were going to bid for him only for the board to have another private meeting and plan to bid way lower than was agreed so that it would fail.

what i don't get is surely it's more beneficial in the long term to the "club" and the "finances" if we spend a little now to help secure premier league status?
-
Just gives me far more confidence that we will get points when he is on the pitch. Problem is he is perhaps our best defensive midfielder at the club but we need him to create aswell.
-
dunno why this stood out to me but just simple and to the point.
-
Confident we will win this if Coloccini plays.
-
Your similar to us brum in that you probably should sack the manager as should we but who do you/we get? I think the game at villa park between us is massive and could ultimately decided which of us go down.
-
That didn't take long to be dismissed haha
-
fair enough
-
Only struggled in the last 20 i felt when more than likely he tired. Overall solid debut.
-
The word "resolution" is important there. Suggests we hope to keep him here in the short term.
-
Whatever the reason we simply cannot go on like this. We need more firepower upfront.
-
to be fair, the "must win" games against relegation rivals so far (wigan at home and QPR at home) we have won. So hopefully we can do the same again. I think the point today is very important psychologically.

they WERE mole. Sorry I feel like we have to persist with this
-
couldn't be bothered to read the rest after that first line sorry.
-
How would a spurs bid be "too late"? if they wanted him they would get him simple as that.
-
lots of important headers cleared away. Helped out a fair bit by Jonas 2nd half to be fair but he had to do all of Jonas' attacking for him.
-
Was very good as was the rest of the back four. Cannot imagine him going it will fuck us up badly.

Any other time i would be furious we were so negative away to norwich but under these conditions we have to take every point. Could easily have lost given the way we have crumbled lately. Got to beat reading now and then go to villa with more confidence.
