Im hoping the penny finally dropped for Pards in the last 2 games regarding Simpson although to be fair it did seem we wanted Debuchy in the summer. This is what pisses me off about ashley, for the sake of about £1million or so we could of had Debuchy in the summer and had a stronger defence for the first half of the season.

Really hope putting him through the middle improves him but i'm not convinced. Thought he was good against man united and scored a good goal but then he was absolutely diabolical against arsenal. Pretty much played with 10 men the amount of times he mis-controlled/gave away the ball.

If we could start the same line-up as today i'd be confident of getting something but with Anita out, Perch having to go to CB and someone else (likely jonas) coming into midfield it's unlikely. Plus they have had a nice long rest.

A point today wouldn't have made a huge difference to our league standing so hopefully people aren't too negative because i thought we were brilliant today considering how poor we have been this season. Unfortunately we crumbled under the Man Utd pressure as so many others have done. I disagree with the "man u were crap anyone else would have beaten them" as we put them under so much pressure with our closing down and the system we were using was excellent.

I know it's crushing to lose like that but the positives we should take from that performance should push us on to have a far better 2nd half of the season.

God i wish that Marveaux free kick had gone in.

We started the season with everyone fit. We played a rigid 4-4-2 week after week and looked shocking the vast majority of the time. We got the results we deserved and the players lost confidence, then we got some injuries to compound that effect. We are where we are because of the way Pardew approached this season. BOOM!
