There is zero percent chance that 1) we’re desperate for transfers going into that match day and 2) it’s even going to be a contest that night of the home leg. We’ll be up by two or three. The home leg will be a dead rubber match as we say here.

Two posts before I put someone on ignore might be a new record for me.

Thought to myself today after he came on “fuck me he’s going to be perfect for Arsenal” He brings something else to them, another dimension, that they don’t have currently. They’re a lovely passing side but they have needed someone like him who is completely comfortable carrying the ball 50+ yards himself and letting the play develop around him before passing (like it did for their goal). He might be the exact shot in the arm they needed to get the title over the line. El certainly be an important part of it, if they do.

This is a myth that keeps getting peddled on this forum. The elusive DM that’s the missing cog, that will unleash the “real” Bruno. The reality is that our style of play doesn’t require a more defensive minded player in the middle of the park. We keep possession by pressing and recycling better and faster than almost any other club in the PL. Every one of our midfielders has legs and cleans up their area of the pitch with ease, a traditional DM or more defensive minded player will bring nothing to our set up and, I believe, actually hinder the way we are playing.

That take effort straight at the keeper was really disappointing. Anyone else in the squad scores there most likely.

The shot of Southgate watching the replays of it and jotting down notes suggests it might not be long now for relegation-zoned Pickford.

I think the way we’re playing (and the way teams are playing that low block against us) isn’t particularly conducive to letting ASM really shine. We’re too pushed up and compact. He needs the space to run with the ball but the positions he’s getting the ball in now are way up towards the oppositions’ 18-yard box so there isn’t a lot of grass ahead of him to take on players and do what he does best.

If we don’t start turning these single points into three points sharpish I’m going to start getting worried and I’ll be gutted if we don’t finish in the top 4 now.

I need to get myself a job as one of the liaisons here in America ?

Wasn’t stoked at all to come off today it looked like. I wouldn’t have either, to be fair though. Howe had to have a little talk with him. He put in a good shift today.

Just spotted our boy @Kanjigetting a photo with Shay.

Frustrating day at the office. I’m glad the brass was there to see it in person. Time to get the check book out and make some changes.

That hit straight at the keeper by Big Joe is frustrating as fuck. Literally anywhere other than straight at him man.
-
What? Almost everything worth anything has been through him.

Ah man my buddy just met Shearer. Super jealous.

I love reading these kinds of things. It's kind of like the "oh yeah, no shit" type of tactics that you don't even really think about but are vitally important and things Eddie is keenly aware of. I think it also explains a lot why Burn is still getting in ahead of Targett. Schar is 15% better at winning his aerial duels since Botman and Burn have both been in the back four. It's also interesting to note that they put Big Joe on the oppositions best header of the ball during set pieces. Love that.

It's has to be such a massive comedown going to a different club from Newcastle right now. Amazing manager, amazing squad harmony, training sounds fun as fuck, the club is finally going places again, etc. Then you end up in... Nottingham. Poor Woods man, no wonder he wanted to stay and fight for his spot. I'd play for fucking free if I had to.

Gordon seems like such a cunt, but if its Howe’s call I’m on board.

Please do this Spurs.

Who saw that coming?

It wasn't anything special if I remember correctly.

It all started with the beer for me too. Twenty years later here I am. The year before I started following Newcastle, we had an extra day on our rail pass and I loved the beer so much my parents and I went to Newcastle to drink the beer at the closest place to the brewery. We ended up having lunch and a few pints in The Strawberry. We walked around SJP and my dad even went in the club shop to look around and offered to grab me a jersey but I said it was alright. Little did I know less than a year later I’d be rueing that response. The coverage of the PL started to get really good here in the states so me and my buddies all decided to chose clubs and follow them. Because I loved the beer so much it was an easy choice to follow Newcastle. I started on another forum (I can’t remember the name for the life of me) where there were about 40 or so of us. Then I found this place and jumped over here after about a year of just lurking. It has been such an awesome place for me over the past almost two decades and has brought me so close to Newcastle, even being half way around the world. The plan is to get over for the Tottenham match on the 22nd of April. I’ve only seen Newcastle once in person and it was that 1-0 loss to Orlando City. So let’s hope this new job comes through and I can make it happen. I can’t wait to set foot inside SJP.
