We need to get both types of players everyone is talking about, not just one or the other. We need the unproven up and comers to raise the floor but we also need ready made players to come in and make a difference quickly and raise the ceiling. It’s a delicate balancing act and I’m glad I’m not in charge of making these decisions that’s for sure. I’m just here for the good football.

This is where I’m at. When I do watch him, I don’t see him affect play or the squad as much as I’d like. That might be down to his roll at Brentford but I just don’t see him as some elite signing.

As always, the reality is somewhere in the middle. I don’t think we’re trying to be a super league club, even with a new stadium, but I sure as fuck loved watching us dismantle PSG 4-1 like. Doing the same to Port Vale in a half full SJP doesn’t really have the same vibe for me. I think we’re just trying to be in and around it every season. Competing. A new stadium helps us move into the reality of where football is now and is heading so we can compete and entertain (the main reason this sport even exists). And that’s before we even get to the fact that us across the pond who have been supporting this club for over 20 years sure do love being able to watch us play on the weekends. I don’t want that to go away really.

Fair play for admitting it, truly. It’s just so wild to me that so many of y’all got there. We’re United aren’t we? It’s supposed to be us against everyone.
