All this talk of Liverpool getting points deducted is awesome but I know it'll never happen, it's hard to rational in my head. It's especially the way they go about it. Like that article states. "We'll save your precious club, as long as you don't deduct points from it" Fuck off, seriously. It's a match made in heaven really because Red Sox fans (and other New England sports fans; Patriots, Celtics, Bruins) always have this mentality that they are owed all of this glory only because of who they are, just like Liverpool fans.

And to celebrate the anniversary got pulled over going 110mph in France. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/10/08/AR2010100805668.html

Don't think anyone was really arguing that, but choose to believe what you want. This is good news though.

Shola is straight cheesin'

Another reason to hate Liverpool - they are now owned by the group that also owns my least favorite baseball team.

Going to buy that new top or trackie top me thinks Believe it's just a mock up and not an actual kit. I know the team doesn't technically exist buts its still going on sale in Dec. Knowing MLS they will (wrongly) use this as a way to judge interest in the NY Cosmos expansion.

The most telling quote in the story.

From a logistics point-of-view (esp season ticket sales), how does a team go from having 150 visitors one game to 2000 the next. That means that you cannot sell season tickets in the space where you will have to put the 2000, and can only sell them as single games or mini-plans. It's unusual that teams are even within driving distance (or that fans care enough to make the drive). The SEA-VAN-POR teams are one set, plus NY-PHI and maybe DAL-HOU, but for the most part, teams only have to worry about their own fans. I agree in a sense, but I think this article is just good at opening the initial dialogue to a bigger issue of front office's supporting their supporters and their main rivalries. There is a lot of work to be done but if the clubs are making an effort to help breed this kind of support it will make the league a better place. Imagine if clubs started offering cheap air-fare for official supporters groups on chartered flights? There would be more than enough people willing to travel at much discounted rates if it meant supporting their team. (the fact that Alaska Airlines is now the official sponsor of the Timbers gives me hope that the Timbers will set this sort of precedent) It's a very deep issue that most clubs in MLS haven't even tried to dig into, I hope if the Timbers/Sounders/Whitecaps prove that it can be done then other clubs will start to take a look.

Anthony Annan Accused Of Squeezing Testicles Of Opponent

His hair makes it look so funny. Would love to see him here if we didn't already have -
The only player I would even consider getting on the back of my kit.
-
I thought I had heard something but I thought it was boots colliding or something else, didn't even think it was his leg until afterward.
-
Of course not. Agreed, but it would be nice to see someone with a pair of legs in that position.
-
Could be a chance for him to step up now that Ben Arfa is out of the squad, especially considering that we seem to want to stick with the 4-5-1 type formation we've been using.

Newcastle United v Wigan Pre-Match Thread - 16/10/10, 3.00 PM

Plays "in the hole" last time I actually watched them play this season. -
A couple thoughts from the match now that I actually have access to the forum. Obviously the Shola pen shout was a stone-wall penalty and it would've really swung the match in our favor for the remaining time. I think we would've gone on to win the match as it was already swinging in that direction. We deserved AT LEAST a point, if not more. I though the 4-4-2 that played the last part of the match looked good, Shola actually ran on to some of Carroll's flick ons and really highlights why we need two strikers up there or at least a more mobile player in "Nolan's position" behind Carroll. Fucking gutted about Ben Arfa and Coloccini obviously, although I thought Sol did relatively well coming on in that match. He looks a bit lumbering when running after the opposition but he still will generally get in good positions that make him hard to beat. I watched this match with an Arsenal supporting friend of mine who didn't watch us at all last season and his comment on this match was "it's weird to watch Newcastle not just play long-ball" and I think that speaks volumes to where we are right now as a club. Even though we only have 7 points we still have played well, even in the matches we didn't get any points from, and that's why I'm not putting down as relegation fodder at this point. We have enough quality and belief in our system to be mid-table when it's all said and done.

http://www.prostamerika.com/2010/09/30/fans-must-be-allowed-to-attend-derbies-29504/ I thought this was a pretty awesome article about why derbies and rivalries should be encouraged in America and not dampened by only offering the "league minimum" of tickets to traveling supporters.

Doesn't work on my computer because it's hotlinked to a site, what is it?

Take that back, found out there's a pub in DC that opens early so I can watch the match there. Prepared for agony.

What did he do wrong. His hands were behind his body. Yeah because he was swiping at the ball.
-
Chelsea/Marseilles in HD or Partizan/Arsenal in SD?
-
Correct. Agreed sadly. As for loven, I personally think he's an intelligent player and he makes excellent runs. He finishing isn't great by no means but I think we should play him with carroll and with some half decent service, he'll get a goal every few games at best. At worst he'll still give defenses somthing to think about, and it means we won't be playing kevin nolan in the fking hole. All of the above.
-
I'd rather see all three in the same team This.
-
I don't think he's a bad finisher but that aside, he's at least a better finisher than Nolan and will create more space/make better runs.
