Pard-tastic half of football.
-
Just when one of our star players is getting back another one gets injured. Man, this season has been an absolute nightmare for putting out our strongest xi.
-
Got a shitty feeling about this game tbh.
-
Thanks, but I should be so lucky...
-
Always thought that Everclear (i think) song "High above me" was ideal for a Cabaye. He's Cabaaaaaaaaaaaye, etc etc..
-
*sigh* Oh well, shame we got nothing but against Spurs at home you'd expect that... Ruined my weekend though.
-
You would have thought they'd have enough quality to see off Southampton and Villa tbh. Looked at the squad the other day and it doesn't lack quality (except perhaps in some positions); and has so many options... Cesar Onuoha Samba Ben Haim Traore JSP Mbia Hoillet Granero Taraabt Mackie It's actually quite fun tinkering with their massive squad and I don't even know if that's their best team tbh, but it looks strong enough to stay up.
-
Probably been said before but i reckon he could be a cult favourite here.
-
Wish we played QPR at home again this season.
-
The patented half-time collapse ensues...
-
He blacked up? Regrettable decision, we've all been there.
-
Sneaky suspicion Tiote will be sold. The window's been too quiet in terms of outgoings and we seem to have some options in midfield, suspicious...
-
Bad result for QPR (who I desperately want to go down) and means that Chelsea could be a little nervy against us, especially if the crowd at St James' is up for it.
-
Samba, while not technically brilliant, is an absolute physical beast; the guy is tailor-made for the Premier League in that he'll be effective against most English-style clogger teams struggling in and around the bottom half of the table. As a short-term solution to their defensive shortcomings, they can't do much better tbh. Yes he's a mercenary on excessive wages, but QPR being rooted to the bottom of the league and waving money about like a coked-up socialite means that those are the only good players you can realistically get.
-
Pretty sure Marveaux is injured?
-
I'd be pretty surprised if it wasn't the same formation at Villa but with Mapou in for Taylor. Think we'll lose in some sort of heart-breaking manner due in part to horrible tactics/subs; to churn out some Papiss Demba Cliches it'll be a "spirited loss" with "many positives to take from the game". 1-2.
-
Ah Colo at DM, that old chestnut...
-
Rolando and Samba would keep QPR up unfortunately, they've been quite tight at the back of late with mediocre (that's probably being kind) defenders. Don't think Ive ever wanted a team to go down more tbh; they embody everything that's shit in football right now.

Does he understand the concept of counter-attacking? Villa were going all out and we had 11 players in our own half launching the ball into orbit at every opportunity. I'd chalk this down to nervousness on the part of the players (especially after the crowd piped up) if this sort of collapse was uncommon for a Pardew-managed Newcastle team, but its not. It seems to happen time and time again and its definitely a massive cause for concern, despite the somewhat fortunate (and valuable) 3 points we gained today.

That second half, man. Relieved for the win but the capitulation after conceding a goal is a massive worry. We had eleven men on the field ffs ; yes Villa were fired up but surely with the players we have we could have hit them on the counter as they were committing loads of players forward. Instead we have every player in a black and white shirt scramble around in our half, sit deep, receive the ball, proceed to launch it forward to no-one, rinse and re-fucking-peat. We were treating the ball like a grenade ffs, it was tactical suicide and we're lucky not to be walking away with less points than 3.
-
No way we'll get 3 points
-
Playing like we have 10 men ffs.
-
we could end up losing this.
