This kind of tactical nous is what managers are supposed to implement but Sam, as of late, seems clueless. Maybe its the pressure, maybe its dawning on him that his beloved 4-3-3 system cannot work for the toon or maybe he's got down's syndrome and nobody notices it because he wears such nice clothes- either way i'm all in favour of supporting the man but at times (now for instance) the very reason i wanted him to come here alludes me. Why did we (in general) want him in the first place? I say stick with for at least another season and back him well, if not then its time we secure a certain former lyon and liverpool manager's services.

Overrated

He's allright: good in the air, decent finisher and zany white hair However he's way too slow and is seriously underachieving right now. We have good strikers at the moment but the service has always been poor and ushering in more overpriced youngsters right now is not what we need. Creative midfielder and a pacey RW pretty please.

Sensible guy, but this is slighty disappointing news imo, i was looking forward to this window. The concept that Mort may not grasp is that the higher we are in the table at the end of the season is what will determine the calibre of players that we can attract come summertime. We're in for a rough ride during the ACN and not having a substantial kitty will see us falling a few places in the league, and not to mention put Sam's job in jeopardy once more.

With big clubs sniffing around its highly unlikely that we even stand a chance. Berbatov (overrated as he is) wouldn't come to newcastle.
