    Alexander Isak

I think Isak will be widely recognized as one of the best players in the Premier League this time next year.
  2. I'll be surprised if the shirt doesn't have at least one of the logo or the Arabic writing. Honestly don't care that much either way. At least we're being paid fairly now.
  3. I'm seeing both 2024 and 2026 as end dates so not entirely sure.
  4. Also, aside from Arsenal they all get an extra £7.5-20M/yr for the training kit. The big gap now though is on the kit supplier. Man United - Adidas £75M Man City - Puma £65M Liverpool - Nike £60M Chelsea - Nike £60M Arsenal - Adidas £60M Tottenham - Nike £30M Newcastle - Castore £6.5M
  5. Man United - £47M Man City - £40M Chelsea - £40M Arsenal - £40M Liverpool - £40M Tottenham - £30M
  6. I'm surprised they aren't involved with LIV in some capacity, but don't see them mentioned anywhere.
  7. Their website, which basically just says "Coming soon" and has some jargon-y, meaningless language, makes them appear like some weird shell company.
  8. Is the injury from that tackle in the Brighton game?
  9. Kane approaching and beating Shearer’s record while playing for Man United would be nauseating.
  10. Ha, seems highly improbable when looking back at previous seasons and considering there are about 75 clubs with a higher coefficient than ours.
  11. I think everyone would be very happy if that was the outcome.
  12. Ha, that seems like ages ago and I had kind of forgotten about that. Not sure many people had more fun this season than Jacob Murphy.
  13. I am definitely worried about how some supporters (and also PIF) will respond to inevitable downturns. Saw a Facebook comment on the NUFC CL post saying how this summer's priority should be Bellingham, Kane, and Rice. Expectations are going to go through the roof. Just had a look and it's actually a bit eerie how similar Eddie's first 18 months are to SAF at Man United. Took over a team near the bottom of the table in November Ended up finishing 11th Added a few new players (including Bruce) and they surprisingly finished 2nd in the league They were never really in the title race, primarily due to too many draws What happened next? A big signing (Mark Hughes) and big expectations, but they regressed to 11th In the third full season a number of big signings, but they struggled and discontent was rising. It would have been a popular decision for many halfway through that third full season if he had been sacked. But then they went on a run and won the FA Cup. There were still doubts the next season when they finished sixth, but then they won the Cup Winners Cup. They lost out on the title the next year but won the League Cup and European Super Cup. They won the league title in 1992/93, Ferguson's seventh in charge. I'm not sure a manager in the modern game would have survived the third or fourth year. There's only been five managers in the history of NUFC who have managed 200+ games and two of them were almost a century ago. There's no point in stability for stabilities sake, but with the right person in charge it can be a huge advantage compared to clubs that are constantly chopping and changing. We have a manager who will not be outworked by anyone in the league, who is not afraid to learn and evolve, and who I don't think views us as a stepping stone to anything bigger. I hope he is rewarded with patience when the time comes and I hope he's here for a very long time.
  14. Very curious what kind of wages we’re paying relative to the other big clubs. Or if we’re mostly pulling in these people as they are promotions for them.
  15. Europa League knockouts would be great and a legitimate chance to win a trophy. It's also another path to CL qualification, would help our UEFA coefficient, and the potential to earn additional millions.
  16. The thought of this thread if Pope hadn’t made that save. One of the all time sucker punch defeats. An awful week and nervy final day on the cards. But, unlike much of Newcastle United’s history, the negative outcome is left to what-ifs. The reality is one of celebration and achievement. There may be more successful seasons in the future, but I’m not sure I’ll ever enjoy one as much as this. Die Meister Die Besten Les grandes equipes The Champions
  17. I was just putting some furniture together in our spare bedroom with the Champions League theme on repeat. My wife walks in… Her: Are you serious? Me: You’re going to be hearing this a lot this summer <silence> Her: You can play it as much as you want as long as you don’t sing Me: I may occasionally sing “the champiooonss” Her: yeah, that’s the worst moment of my life every time
  18. Need to be more on it defensively now, but should also have some more room.
  19. Possession: 83 to 17 Accurate Passes: 310 to 34 Passes in opp. half: 207 to 16 Corners: 6 to 0 xG: 1.04 to 0 City-esque stats there minus the goals.
  20. Obviously it just takes one moment with Vardy or something, but even when we turn it over they only have 2 or 3 players getting up the field. Going to take a serious breakdown for them to threaten us as long as they keep this approach.
  21. Wilson with so much space there he didn't know what to do.
  22. I think that's one that looks worse in slow motion than it actually was.
