Casezero. He was utter shite and cost a fortune for donkeys. Now he's painted as the new Figo.

Well you're more intelligent than I am But aye. My point remains the same. How can we justify going anywhere without the desire to win...thats bizarre imo. A win here could mean 90mins from another cup and an entry into Europe again. Even if we won today and lost at home to Brentford we have another dozen or so games to potentially fix things. I think it's genuinely really sad that having won the cup last year we're so willingfully able to just throw away such opportunities already. Imagine being one of the 3 to 5k going down there to be told they're fielding their second string and sacking it off.

I agree and disagree on various elements of this. But will try and remember to reply in full tomorrow as it's nearly midnight

I think it's ignoring the fact we simply cannot invest to the level of other clubs owing to PSR too to say that mind. Villa have been very similar to us and not won a cup. There's nothing to suggest they'll manage the fixture schedule well next year based on how they were last year either.

As always - I am struggling to see what has been within Howes remit that has been the root cause of our current "under performance". Everything for me points towards the back room and potential under performance of individuals within team. The latter which is obviously more to do with Howe. It feels like an endless cycle of regurgitating the same points this season - on both sides. I'm sure I'm doing folks tits in when we win too. All just seems knee jerk and without consideration for all the grey matter.

Just an accident. These young lads get put into situations almost weekly/monthly where they visit bairns in hospitals etc. Which will be undoubtedly uncomfortable for them, but they still do it. He's made a mistake, that's all there is to it. Social media is the pits like.

Yep. I think that would also be sensible. He's won a cup so now that should probably be the route we take. Cannot blame him for wanting more of that though can we

I think there are different ways to tackle the fixture congestion and the strategy Howe has deployed is to rotate fairly regularly and try and keep everyone ticking along. You could argue that it's worked in terms of the fact we're still in 4 competitions (of course only 3 have started) and the fact we don't look like we know what we're doing is somewhat symptomatic of changing playing styles and personnel regularly - even if just minor changes. The other strategy (which I would have deployed but it's easy to say that now) is that you select your best 11 and strategy and then put the best fits in to make said strategy the strongest it can be. If a player is tired or injured then swap the best like for like in. Add in the fact we lost our star striker last minute and were unable to secure anything like a like-for-like striker, games after the season started and then the style of play that he had perhaps envisaged deploying has probably been thrown up in the air. Hate to sound defeatist(?) but for me we ride this season out and just hope we get a decent FA Cup run and Europe of we likely get knocked out the league cup on Tuesday and the last 16 of the CL.

Seriously have to consider taking a points hit and outspending our PSR limit like
-
I get that but not gonna lose too much sleep on today. It's more Leeds (a), West Ham (a), Brentford (a) & Wolves (a). Most of the league could say that this year though.
-
The immediate fixtures are incredibly difficult but we'll have some better games heading in towards the end of the season and less fixture congestion. We've had good runs at that stage of the season nearly every season under Howe. There's no reason not to believe for me.
-
Beaten by a better team that has a superior history and whom are allowed to spend whatever the fuck they want. We tried to go toe to toe and with a bit more quality first half could have perhaps been out of sight. Wasn't to be. Onto the next team we're expected to compete with after their extreme expenditure and the implementation of a closed shop. Just gotta stick with the lads and ride this season out.

Is it just me or are TNT showing replays for far too long / far too slow / at the wrong times?
-
I disagree. He opts to cover the option of Ekitike coming inside on his right be staying and extra half a yard away from him. That half a yard is what ultimately cost him as Ekitike went on the outside.
-
Thiaw wasn't tight enough for their second. He is staying away in case he cuts inside - I get it, but that half a yard is what stopped him blocking the shot.
-
What the fuck is that pundits panel? Mcmanaman, Gerrard and Joe Cole?!

Done well from what I've seen. Frustrating he's been booked already like.
