He looked to me to get winded or what I thought was a broken rib based on the impact and his rolling around. Seemed a tad melodramatic when he came back on and nowt was a matter. I just think that's a downside of the modern game tbh. Then when folk are actually hurt folk think they're just looking for decisions.
  2. Like it almost seems to me that they're purposefully taking the piss just to rile Spurs fans.
  3. Are PaddyPower socials ran by Geordies? They always seem to kinda sway on the side of our fans either sarcastically or ironically.

I'm not l gonna lie his rolling about pissed me off early doors He went on to have a really solid game though and loving him and Hall at full back.
  5. All good questions and considerations. I guess it all depends on the circumstances of the club and performances and if there's an overall project but in its most simplest of forms you'd like to think you either consolidate or progress each season ideally. For example, folk on here would have had Howe sacked 6 weeks ago. Which to me is absolutely fucking mental. and the reason for that is that circumstancially, enough had happened to suggest he wasn't the strongest or only catalyst for under-performance or stagnation or whatever you'd like to call it. I dont think there's sufficient at Spurs to suggest it's impacting Postecoglou (unless financial restriction - via FFP or their stadium purchase is preventing signings or higher wages?) And their squad is capable of being top 8 you'd think. So whilst he probably doesn’t need sacking you'd think he'd be walking a tight rope somewhat, especially if there's no signs of a "project" developing. Who they replace them with though is anyone's guess.
  6. I said to an Everton fan at work the other day "Your lot made me laugh against us singing Premier League - corrupt as fuck - like what are they on about? We were taken over and not allowed to spend our money." He actually agreed with me and said their fans probably were singing it more to the referees than owt else. Which didn't quite add up. But aye, frankly they're tying themselves in knots all PL clubs on the subject of Newcastle United. They have zero moral compass and 100% bias and deflect and level that same argument to Newcastle fans who simply want to see their club compete and be allowed to compete as every other club has been allowed until 2021.
  7. Is this fair comment though to level and Levy? Like if you're spending a fortune signing players and boosting existing revenue and having somewhere nice to play then something has to give doesn't it? I assume the issue is that the fans would have rather stayed at WHL and invested into wages and players to win things, but that's short-termist (I'd think) as FFP etc. Would restrict revenue and would have prevented sustained growth and sustained competitivity?
  8. The interview of a man on the brink of losing his job I'd think. If not, what an ironically imbalanced, petulant, turd.
  9. This sounded like fellas my age that's the thing (35). Could be wrong though. I do agree this whole "change the manager every two minutes" mentality is a bit of a modern 'Sky' generation thing mind. Think fans of some clubs (like Arsenal and Spurs) seem to think they have a divine right to success (as do the other "big six"). It's minging. We're all guilty of it "We're Newcastle" and all that "We're bigger than x, y and z" but ultimately all clubs win cups based on sustained form in any given competition and are generally won on merit of some sort. They just seem to apply this to us because we're one of the few clubs that can now provide a saulstained challenge to that status quo and the fact they think "we're beneath them" should be a fuel for us to burn the bastards with.
  10. Meh. Praises his players and says the right thing about them playing for the club. "Didn't get what they deserved" not sure I agree with. The same was said up here. Both times we've taken our (half?) chances and missed others. They haven't taken the same amount as us, and haven't come away with owt on either occasion. Need to look at themselves or accept we outplayed them even if it was just ever so slightly.

    Will Osula

Feel a bit for Osula but ultimately Howe won us the game with his changes and has a proven record of developing and getting the best out of players. Just need to trust his judgement on Osula and hope he does just as well with his introduction as he has all of his other signings.
  12. If it's the chance I am thinking of I actually thought he should take a touch then place it or alternatively had squared it to Isak. Mind it's easier said in hindsight and would kind of expect him to be selfish too.
  13. Thought he started very slow today and they scored as a result of his rustiness and us just being a little open. Fast put that right though and after around 15mins looked rather comfortable for the most part. Will be good to see him get back to 100% as he's an absolute Rolls Royce defender on his day.
  14. It's actually like hysterical. Was listening to 5Live there for half an hour when a Spurs fan comes on. What was said: 1) Not a level playing field - Referee allowed us to waste time, cheat and gave us a goal that was a blatant handball 2) In reply to the hosts reply (that Newcastle simply won because they managed the game well and wouldn't he want Spurs to do the same) he said "Yes" 3) This then lead to a rant by the presenter saying "you're talking about all these 'kids' playing but how much did you spend on Archie Gray?" The answer was "What's that got to do with anything" and Chris Sutton backing the caller up saying "He's still a kid though". The presenter said "Well you've spent all this money on talents that should provide you with depth and then they were outplayed by Newcastle." 4) The kid then goes on to blame Levy (after being questioned about Ange and his tactics and unwillingness to change)...correct me if I'm wrong...but Levy has spent fuck tonnes getting them a state of the art stadium, they've made multiple signings and investment for around 2 decades now and they're blaming Levy for what? Lack of investment? I don't know..I need someone to explain that to me. All in all, the caller got fairly pulled to shreds. They then went to the news and an Arsenal fan comes on complaining about Arteta, saying "Arsenal need to spend £200m on Isak and just go out and get him." What £200m is this like?! Does FFP not apply to them?! At the very end of my drive a Scottish toon fan came on, on a bad line and basically said "Cry babies" to paraphrase. It was a lot more polite than that but the presenters were basically saying "folk shouldn't take the shine off the form that we are in." Absolutely right. I tell you what - Spurs, Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool under Klopp, they all fucking hate the fact their might be a new kid on the block and a threat to their individual empires and collective closed shop. It makes it all the more sweeter us beating the bastards. I'd fucking love to win the league cup having beat Chelsea, Arsenal and either Spurs or Liverpool. This is long, long overdue this cup win and the salt needs rubbed in to the wounds we've created by cutting this big 6 open. The bastards.
  15. Be a catastrophe based on the last 5 or 6 games
  16. Isn't it fucking lush?! "How dare Newcastle challenge us" Spurs and Man United? Not even on the radar now. We have Forest and Bournemouth to worry about again.
  17. If all things were equal it'd have been a draw... It wasn't, cause they're shite.
  18. This is a beautiful sight tbf. 3 non "big 6".
  19. Man mark Palmer and they're pretty average I'd say.
  20. He kinda went about his business very quietly but effectively today. Really led by example and found an extra gear in injury time mind. Looking so fucking good now.
  21. I'd happily take a draw here tbf. Spurs are the sort of side to get up for a game like this and batter us Given our recent form I'm confident we can avoid that like but aye, we beat them at home, a draw away wouldn't be terrible. Two draws and a win from the next three would be just nice. Anything more then we can be excited.
  22. I am of the view that with Maddison and Palmer and others just like them of you man mark them with Tonali then you nullify their main threats. I think Burn and Hall will have enough to see off Kulesevski's strengths.
