  1. Respectfully (?) This is nonsense. You are (of course) entitled your opinion. But we tactically set out to squash the gaps between our lines and prevent their talented playmaker from playing between them. It was tactical and it somewhat worked. It could have been a different game tonight with a competent goal getter. But like shite will I shoot down Woltemade and Wissa. They did what they could.
  2. Sorry to be a pedantic twat. We don't struggle scoring (generally). We struggle not conceding stupid goals.
  3. Absolutely mate. We need more like that. EHBAWA can forward tiresome. Was quite pleased with the resilience in that corner today tbh. That many games - especially end to end games - in that many days has been tiresome burlt if we feel that God knows how the lads feel. Honestly so proud of our lot. I am irritated and wish we'd have got a better result but we have to applaud the efforts of this bunch. Represent us with all their heart.
  4. People need to get their heads out of this first 11 nonsense. It does not exist for any side.
  5. Was there til the end and beyond mate. I assume you mean leading? The lads deserved every ounce of our support second half. If we cannot do it now when can we? Expectancy now outweighs reality. A lot of these young men have been mountains representing Newcastle upon Tyne. We must shower them with our encouragement so they understand how appreciated that is. Our home not theirs. But it can be.

    Match Atmosphere

The sings were generally being sung at the reet speed for a change, possibly cause the lack of enthusiasm (and cocaine) and it sounded much better for it.
  7. Atmosphere needs to be huge. I'm not too arsed about Man City but we should make it hostile as fuck for them.
  8. Winning this would be massive tonight for me. I think Man City will win the league tbh and are the best side in the competition. If we beat these again at home tonight it's more than that though it's a massive confident boost heading into Wolves and hopefully filling us with the right level of hope as we embark on our toughest stretch of fixtures for the season. Que sera sera...but even getting this far is testament to the coaching staff and team - irrespective of how folk feel we've played.
  9. Surprisingly excited and up for this game. I know it shouldn't be a surprise. Just really want us to do these and know if we can knock City out over two legs we can absolutely win it....AGAIN!
  10. Fucking typical we'd get them bastards away like.
  11. He has improved but is yet to reach the levels he is capable of. Largely down to decision making and attitude for me.
  12. In recent seasons our pitch has been given awards for its upkeep and quality so, that is not right, I'm afraid.
  13. Each to their own pal. Just kidding x

    Lewis Hall

Lewis Hall is arguably our best player. He is that talented.
  15. Noticeable and audible uplift from the stands when he came on today like "Ahhh everything will be alright now"
  16. Him and Barnes probably the most noticeable two for us today. Lead by example.
  17. Got the win. That's all that matters. Was frustrating as shit though.
  18. He was a 7 at best for me. Which to be fair probably better then most today for me. Got an assist, scored his pens. Pretty vital in us getting through on that basis. Also played a square ball that they nearly scored from, relentlessly went inside both in and out of possession and noticeably closed our whole play inwards as he has been doing for a little while now much to my frustration and seemingly that of Lewis Hall's. This is despite him having the bearing of almost every full back downtown he outside when he stays wide. Hate when he (and one or two others) go down though. It's absolutely fucking minging. Rolling around, rolling socks up, fucking about whilst play continues. I honestly think that chance from 5 yards our was harder than folk think. A lad of his level should finish that nee bother - for sure - but he is going so fast and so is the ball - can see understand how he misses it. If someone was "superb" they'd be almost flawless. He absolutely wasn't...again. Folk need to stop dressing up his performances tbh, just as (perhaps) I need to be equally as critical of others as Gordon. However, I will be honest - he is firmly in my sights. As I can forgive poor ability but certain attitudes and tendencies I cannot.
  19. It's shocking when you think about it. In what other business would you treat your loyal "customers" with such a lack of consideration and get away with it...?
