Barton's reputation is to be a box-to-box midfielder but in reality he was blowing out of his arse after 50minutes Yesterday.
-
Aye, number 4 is correct - they are giving it handbags at ten paces.
-
I fancied him to get one or two today, but he failed...as he is a Mackem Tiddlerskull.
-
Don't know how you can criticise him tbh, he was a lone striker and ran his socks off as much as he could...I'm sure you can let him off one cut-back. At the end of the day we should have three or four in the box in those situations but there was only one about 16 yards out.
-
We should have a world events version in the chat section. Would be good to shed a little humour on such serious issues.

Chuffed with the win - Ranger's looking better by the game. Barton did pretty much fuck all but run around as did Lovenkrandz. Guthrie and Nolan worked hard in the middle and cut off a number of their plays, but began to look a little fatigued at around 60minutes - kept on going 'til the end though. Smith was brilliant again but probably deserved the sending off. Ryan Taylor worked hard and put some good balls into the box. Simpson looks like he is loving first team football, and loving playing for us. Coloccini had one of his best games I've seen him play in a toon top and Taylor made some good blocks and 'put-offs'. Harper came out to collect the majority of things but had fairly little to do. Finally, Jose Enrique bossed the left flank, and showed his class. All in all, a good solid team performance, and an even better three-points. They're doing their best and doing us proud...that's all we wanted last year - a bit of unity and fight. It's nice to see. Credit to our 2,000 down there today too, made plenty noise which was great to hear once our lads on the pitch silenced their crowd. "You're not famous anymore!" Okay then chaps, that's why your first sell out crowd was against us and that's why we're constantly being televised. Cardiff City? Aye, because your the Manchester United of the past aren't you....

Got to have Steven Taylor, Steve Harper, Nicky Butt and Shola Ameobi...it's the perfect spine to build any squad around.

Just watched the highlights there as my plan to watch the match in town last night was some-what destroyed by tom-foolery, drink and pool. It appears that we are finally playing to our strengths, and attacking games in a very English manner. The squad Capello has put together and teams he's picking are near enough perfect and we are using a very attacking midfield to tear teams apart. My only worry is when we play the giants from on the continent the likes of Germany, Italy and Spain who play a very organised defensive game. Simply because I don't know if our midfield have the defensive qualities to handle them. Good times are ahead however, and finally a bit of pride and passion has been restored for our nation. (Maybe I'm just a glory supporting England fan....)

Only if I'm playing you, big boy. not after last time. you stunk out the changers with your "denim for men" Actually it was Brut.

Only if I'm playing you, big boy.

As much as I enjoy hearing/making sexist jokes to women for bites regarding this, I think it's absolutely great - and an even more respectable sporting achievement for our nation than winning the ashes. Women's football should get alot more press coverage than it recieves, then with the right funding and pushing it down the right channels it will devlop it as an overall spectacle. We might even get some fit straight birds playing... Joke...

Just for the record...Shola is still our best striker, and if you want to know why then I'll tell you more..
-
People bum Caroll compared to Shola. Shola has had longer to prove himself though tbf. Good signing if we get him, provides plenty of muscle for up front.

Thing is for Ashley it would be a massive gamble to stick around...but as long as Newcastle are winning games then the anti-Ashley songs will slowly get drowned out. Everyone was/is angry that we're in the Championship and we all blame Ashley and rightly so - but what if we got up to the Premier and actually signed a good average paid side instead of being a big 'buying' club that wins fuck all and slides from mediocre to a well-known european outfit every 4 or 5 years.... Alternatively, we could get injuries and our squad would be less than paper thin, we could slip down the league and end up missing out on promotion at the first time of asking. Then the chanting and singing towards Ashley gradually increase. He sells up and takes whatever he can get and we possibly end up with an owner who cannot afford to fund a promotion seeking team. Now obviously it's not such a black and white issue, there is room for a bit of grey...I fucking hate Mike Ashley, and I do want him to fuck off, but I reckon as time goes on this is something that we'll look back on and think - fucking hell why did we think/do that? one way or another....

Hughton was mint in his interview, he answered every single question in the bes tpossible way. Ranger was praised but he kept his feet on the ground. The team was praised but he stated the obvious in that we need more players. He didn't give anything away regarding where we needed to strengthen and he played down his role as caretaker manager. On the other hand, Pearson - what a twat. He is literally the shittest person for interviews ever. I'll never forget his wank interview after we got molested by ManUre and last nights was certaintly no better.
-
Enrique is fooking mint, end of.
-
Tbh, I can see Ashley riding out the storm and then reaping the benefits when if get promoted again.
-
The sooner Shearer gets his stint and succeeds/fails and fucks off the better for the next man. Now is the perfect time for him to learn as well. I am quite pro-Shearer because I lvoe the bloke he's my child hood hero, I think he would do a reasonable job too. Him and Hughton could strike up something good.
-
It's about having the right mix. Hughton has done extremely well getting the mix right this season.
-
From the Leicester equivalent thread. Reading that made me rather proud. Especially saying our fans were mint and sportsman-like...
-
Butt is our most creative midfielder though.
-
Who do you fear? Ameobi On numerous occassions. The lad went to Heaton Manor that's why...all the best people went there.
