  1. Getting shithoused. Hard to complain
  2. This is dire. I don’t actually think Bournemouth look that great, we just aren’t at the races

    Match Atmosphere

You did a stellar job getting through every verse in the pub after too. No wonder your throat was fucked! Definitely need a few more of you dotted about with that level of commitment to really getting the atmosphere going and maintained.
  4. My memory is shit these days but was there a brief period under Rafa when Miggy, Perez and Rondon were almost like a budget HBA, Cisse and Ba? One of the few times during the Ashley era we had a genuinely exciting attacking outlet. It’s easy to forget he came in under Rafa and survived the hellscape of Bruce to then flourish under Howe. He’s one of the genuine old to new era connecting players and I think that alongside the PSG goal as well as the ‘purple patch’ that was key the winter before in getting us those wins that took us into Europe afford him cult status. My own personal fave memory relating to Miggy was meeting a blind toon fan in the Fulham end next to the away section, the radios for the blind folk were not working for some reason, so he asked me to describe to him everything that was happening on the pitch, while all the Fulham fans around got gradually more irate. Eventually the bloke sat next to him and in front of me tells us he works in the Fulham ticket office and he’ll get us seats in the away end if we agree to fuck off and leave them all alone. Excitedly agree, walking underneath the stand to the disabled gantry by the away fans (not quite the away end seats I expected), we hear the crowd erupt above us. Miggy had just scored his side foot vollied masterpiece and I was arm in arm with a blind dude I had never met underneath the stand. What a day.
  5. I'll be derided for this, but I actually think he would do quite well at a lower table premier league team who play with a low block and counter attack. I think he's a massive confidence player and with a consistent run in the team would regain some form. If I looked at the Chris Wood thread before he was sold, I think we would find similar comments about not capable at all at any level, let alone premier league. Anyhow, we won't find out, as he'll be off to MLS, Saudi or similar I imagine.
  6. When was the last time we comfortably rested the majority of our team and won an FA cup tie? It’s not perfect but things are progressing

    Alexander Isak

Sadly, other than Shearer, a lot of the issue was that we didn’t have the players as opposed to Ashley holding out. See Carroll, Andy
  8. Great through ball followed by an absolute pinger. Other than the goal Miley has looked good, albeit against L2

    Sandro Tonali

I remember Milanista talking about how the Rice fee should have been a benchmark for his fee. While I understand the obvious differences re home grown quotas and being proven in the league, looking at it now it doesn’t seem quite so outlandish
  10. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/exclusive-burnley-close-in-on-jonjo-shelvey-deal/ hopefully signs in time to score against the Mackems next weekend
  11. They’re missing 2x RB and 2x RW, so what normally is an area that we struggle with when playing them at the Emirates is an opportunity this time. Just hoping Gordon is fit as having him and Hall against a makeshift right side for Arsenal could be useful

    Marc Guehi

If they sign him then we should potentially be looking at the young lad they had who debuted at the weekend. Once Fofana is back at end of season he’d be shunted to 4th choice at best and may be available for a reasonable fee. I know he’s signed a new contract, but so did Hall before we signed him and we might be able to get another loan with obligation type deal to phase him in next season. edit: maybe not, shows a chronic lack of research on my part, he’s primarily a right back and was played out of position

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

But with Botman, Krafth and Lascelles hopefully all back in and around the squad by the end of the month, alongside Botman, Schar and Kelly, we have 6 players across two positions, so we are pretty well stocked. Depends on cost and structure of course. Wouldn’t want our sole signing in Jan being someone who couldn’t play, and highly doubt you can do loan with obligation to buy then loan back. Not sure how the deal for the Georgian keeper at Liverpool has been logged from a PSR perspective.

    James Trafford

Not totally enamoured by the potential signing, but somewhat reassuring to see he doesn’t just have the most clean sheets in championship but also highest save percentage (85%).
  15. Arsenal’s fixture list for the next month is heavy. Champions League is back, have us twice in the league cup, Mancs in the FA cup and Villa, Spurs, Wolves away and Man City in the league. All without Saka. 5 points is a lot to pull back but being purely rational it’s not beyond the realms over the next month when comparing the outlooks. Football rarely goes as expected in the short term tho.
  16. Book player for time wasting during stoppage time, blow whistle at precisely the 4 mins previously announced.
  17. I really hope that’s cramp as looked like he could have done his calf
  18. So Botman booked and penalised for the identical thing that wasn’t a penalty at the other end. Ref has been insanely bad
  19. Yup. I love Howe but if we genuinely want to be in the champions league and pushing on again we need to manage games and substitutions so much better. We have another big game Tuesday too and these players are looking dead
  20. He’s just broke his nose, that’s a fucking penalty!!!
  21. That’s not deliberate and wasn’t the goal scorer. Ludicrous if disallowed
  22. Spurs seem to be shitting it about legs in the middle, playing those who will put the yards in. Surprised Bissouma dropped though
  23. Spurs just spent £12.5m on Slavia goalkeeper, so looks like Forster confirmed as out (not that the new keeper will be playing today of course)
  24. If they were genuinely sick, I’d prefer they did push through and play. Will be in the minus numbers potentially with a bit of snow, with Isak, Gordon and Murphy chasing them down relentlessly. Sick, weak and freezing is going to make that pretty rough.
