Not entirely sure where our defence was either. Nobody anywhere near the Celtic man going through -

All a ploy to put pressure on ownership to spend. Even Pope is in on it -
How do we not know about these things? Surely if it’s that holding up the deal and we knew that then we would have moved to other targets? No?

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

I just hope we are getting a defender and Trafford sorted. If the weekend comes and goes and we miss out here, it’s back to being a pretty shoddy window. I know there’s time left, but those first 3-4 games are tough and at the end of the season 9-12 points is going to potentially cover a fair few places, we need players settled and established. -

Then we both have permission to speak with him. Same as all the clubs with Delap -

Every other report has said there’s a €100m release clause -

My guess is that the Liverpool conversation will be ‘tell us once everything is agreed with newcastle and we will match / slightly increase at the last minute’. Gives them as long as possible to unsettle isak without missing out. All we can hope for is that someone on the eintracht side or Ekitike himself don’t like being used as pawns. Doubt the club will care as they want the most cash, so will be down to Ekitike. Third time lucky?! -

Within the hour a completely different narrative. I think we have to just accept this is the clickbait football story of the summer and all these cunts are loading up the pennies. -

for what it’s worth -
He's got three years left on his contract, is a very bright lad and is loved by the fans - I would be massively surprised if he was willing to burn that to risk trying to push through a move that has no guarantee of happening. I don't see him going on strike or going public, I think there will be a conversation behind the scenes and either a gentleman's agreement or new contract with clause for next summer, which is fair on both parties.
-
Completely agree with this. If they did approach it aggressively I would imagine it would make us far less likely to be willing to deal with them even next year. If we did manage to get him to sign a new deal and it must have a release clause, I’d be much happier for it to be foreign clubs only, or anyone but Liverpool.

The thing is, with Rudoni, he’s already 24. I’d rather take a punt on teens/very early 20s players from championship.

I’d rather shift Willock and Longstaff and bring in one quality replacement personally. Then it’s 3 from 5, with Hall as 6th back up. It means 5th and 6th choice are Miley and Lewis rather than Willock and Longstaff, which I don’t think is a significant downgrade (I actually think it’s an upgrade) and fourth choice is genuinely strong rotation player. Miley would still get plenty of game time too

Winning the premier league and champions league with the most potent attack in Europe will get us £25m a year increase from adidas

£15m is a year of a £75m / €86m player…
