....according to the fat twat on Setanta (who is he BTW - Pat someone?) "The self appointed, best fans in the world let their team down today. It was quiet, they let their team down and they let Alan Shearer down". Also noticed some ad in a scouse accent saying he wasn't that desperate to move to Newcastle. So did we, did we let the team down?

That must be a the best bit of advice given to anyone. Ever.

We played the best f***ing football I've seen in ages and every single player puts in their performance of the season, and "we only have ourselves to blame"? Yes, we could have won any number of games this season if our 'superstars' had been bothered. HW is a cock, no more no less, but to blame him for this mess is ridiculous

Been reading this thread with interest as being out of ther country it provides me with a more accurate reflection on what happened. One question to some people on this thread: Does anyone seriously believe that it's Hughton actually making these decisions? From what I've read it seems like JK is doing the decision making while watching it on TV. Not sticking up for anyone, just something to think about when the blame game starts over the next two weeks.

I've had a season ticket since '86, so have a seen a few ups and downs. The difference with this time is the money at stake. If we go down here it will set the club back 10 years I've also just given up my season ticket as we've just emigrated to Australia. We haven't had a TV since mid Jan and I can tell you that I was so pissed off with the PL and NUFC that I haven't missed watching the matches one bit. Just to put the PL in perspective to what relegation would mean worldwide, nevermind financially in the UK - if we go down, I (and most of the rest of the world), won't see NUFC play football again until they come back up.

Yes it was. I can confirm he's a complete mong. He also hates us more than anything. Met him in Yarm several times. One of those mutants with a chip on their shoulder who can't take it that we couldn't cae less about them.

Only person who thinks the ref did well on the pen?
Thomson Mouse replied to Slim's topic in Football
We shouldn't be surprised, Mike Dean is always like this, he's one of those refs who thinks he's bigger than the game. Heskey was offside. Bassong committed one foul - tugging at his shirt way outside the box. Heskey then fouled Bassong. Heskey then fell over in the box. There was another player covering, so Bassong wan't the last man, nor was the original foul or the 'foul' in the box a " clear goalscoring opportunity". Kirkland's fouls on Carroll was worse and WAS a foul. Why no red card? Why was Carroll booked for diving in the 83rd minute, when he was clearly fouled? Clear penalty. So yes, you're the only person who thought the ref did well for the penalty. Also, why was Cattermole not sent off for the fould on Beye? Not that any of this hides what was an incredibly poor and disappointing performance by us. Oh and watch the football first highlights, if it's the same ones I watched the commentators were shocking, can anyone tell me who Dean the co-commentator was? -
Scouting players - what would you look for in a player?
Thomson Mouse replied to a topic in Football
Surely this would depend on what position they play. -
They've combined the sports depts for The Journal, Sunday Sun and Chronic anyway. He's a grade A cock and I'll be happy to see one of the last bastions of Shepherd gone. Don't buy this "it's a hard job" shit, he had his head buried up Shepherds arse. Mini-Lee is a cock as well. Spoke to him on the phone a few times, arse and elbow spring to mind. I think Luke Edwards wil be given the top job, hopefully. He's an excellent reporter. Him and Neil Farrington should be the future of Thomson House. If they are, I might even change my username.

I may be wrong but don't they have association with Northumberland through the Hotspur family or something like that?
-
I didn't. Might have a look. Still like the other 'slogan' as well, that's not being critical of your otherwise excellent range of t-shirts though.
-
While the Nile Ranger t-shirt is superb, could we have a more conservatively coloured one with say "bumbaclart duppy mannnn" on it? It's the colour that puts me off the other one.

The clubs statement is wrong, it was not racism. Like the way you're suddenly seeing club statements as coorect.
-
Because the mainstream opinion is not always the right opinion. For example, most people think Gordon Brown is not at fault for our problems, apparently. This has been completely thrown out of proportion, partly as a result of Mido's childish cries of racism. It's not, but some people no matter what point there is, decide to go against it. I'm not going to discuss another thread with you on this one, but you are spot on with the bit in bold.
-
Why is it that some people wwill do anything to go against mainstream opinion?
-
Why are people STILL talking about it being racist? IT'S NOT RACIST. Why are people embarrassed about some mutants jumping up and down about it? It wasn't about his religion, not sure why he's brought that up, unless he's points scoring. As someone has already said, he learly doesn't take his religion seriously. As for putting off arab buyers

Pointless reacting until we know what it was the were chanting. If it was the Mido stuff, not sure how that would stand up with the 'racial chanting' accusation. Have you ever been arrested and subsequently charged with racial chanting by police? I haven't. Morons. Nope. Wonder how it was just those two though?

Apart from anything else, I love the Daily Mail getting on their high horse about racist abuse. On top that Wullie, there are so many things wrong with that article it's untrue.

Sunderland appoint Steve 'I bleed black and white' Bruce as new manager
Thomson Mouse replied to cp40's topic in Football
It is quite laughable with the Yanks, but it is a bit strange that the Aussies don't do it bearing in mind that they are an even younger country in our terms Yeah, I can just see them pronouncing themselves as "Convo Brit-Australian" loud and proud. That's the bit of their identity they struggle with. There are sizeable popultaions of Croatians, Greeks and Thai expats in Oz. Don't here the same thing from them. -
