The whole thing is a cosy little club and if Platini is an honest man among thieves then he'll soon be slapped down if he endangers the status quo. As someone has said the FA are equally to blame, but while Uncle Rupert is throwing his money around don't expect things to change.

Bit of a Gerald Ratner quote there Dave
-
it's clearly Shepherd - it's the only person they could know about as a mystery bidder. That fat twat will be desperate to get his grubby mitts back on the club, it was a money making machine for him
-
Is is really that difficult to refuse to go? They seem to have enough power when they want to go. If that ITK is true, he must know what is happening tomorrow.

forgot to say you need to wash your mouth out after that comment

hells teeth, yes we did we actually won 11 out of 11, then lost to Grimsby at home with a stupid long rang effort from a lad called Jobson or Dobson. Dave Bessent was in goal and had a canny game From the top of my head it was Jim Dobbin and it was at home as well. Also, Beasant not Bessent - overrated. I was at every match as well cp40, the best footballing memories of my life were contained in that season..... ...mackems singing where's your record gone at 1-1, then Liam'O stepped up.... Im on the famous photo of the goal ....filling half of the Peterbrough ground with about 9,000 of us in the record breaking run... watched from halway up the floodlight while Gimp was dying at the back of the stand ...Notts County away watching a lad take 5 steps at a time, hurdle the ad hoarding and jump into Peacock's arms after his goal (one of our most underrated players ever, was wor Gav)... just an absolutly brilliant away day, . ....dodge a good kicking at Miwawl..and somgside in the CC Cup.... My lass at the tiime got bitten by a police dog at the tube station ....watching the Anglo-Italian cup game at Grimsby eating fish and chips on the terrace with literally another 20 people and offering giving Quinny a chip when he scored... ...being first in the queue and camping overnight for FA cup Blackburn ticket (spoke to John Hall who came to see us and KK) was sitting outside the east stand with deck chairs + cans when the pubs emptied and mayhem ensued, looked like Deck chair hell the next morning, skips full of smashed chairs, quite funny. ...returning to Grimsby on that Tuesday night to watch us win it... great memories, on the pitch with my 30ft CHAMPIONS banner and THAT Leicester game (revenge for the disgraceful scenes down at Filbert St the season before which Bill Borrows the f***ing t*** blamed us for, Man City supporting cock end)...at which, I believe the Andy Cole made it's full debut. 6-0 at half time man, we were a good side . That was a complete one off, memories that could not be recreated - any young'uns reading this create your memories and treasure them, I was 16 then and loved it. I would have been 25, and it was my last season as a free man, moved in with my pregnant lass during the first season in the Prem...life would never be the same again, great days. Shame I'm in Australia or I would have asked to meet for a pint as the lads I spent that time with don't get to the matches any more. I've still got one of the lightbulbs from The Baseball ground from the 4-1 defeat in the nearly relegation season and Clarkies shirt when he threw it into the crowd against Leicester. Had some good times after that, but you're right once the missus and kids come along, things change....

To the point of attacking coppers ? Thats just plain moronic and thuggish. Obviously. But it happens, every club has fans like that, ours probably more so. Like this bloke? http://seatondelaval.journallive.co.uk/news/keithbarrett.jpg

The little conversation in the directors box at the end there looked promising. -

One on one with the keeper, notice jayson. At the same time atleast he made the run to get the chance. Who else would have ? Its better to miss a chance, create pressure and push their team back than get nothing atall Wayne Fereday, with the same result. -
Someone listens to Talk Sport and reads too much Louise Taylor. The only people who spout that s**** are the lazy journos who don't have a clue about the area. Pretty ironic that you mentioned her. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/aug/06/newcastle-united-mike-ashley-joe-kinnear TBF Dave, that;s not too bad an article. Apart for the Ssshteve Mac bit. She's improved a little bit recently, still despise her though. Kezman - are we not allowed to do certain things just because they may, at times, fall into a lazy stereotypical image? Thomson, name me one example of when a club in the Premier League has protested with success, I can name a fair few that have fallen on their arses by doing it. Go on then. Why the PL? Surely the change needed is particular to the circumstances for that particular club? The Magpie Group protests and the Shepherd protests are two that I can name.

You need to think like a Mackem - we're always a threat, it's in their genes that they are inferior in every way.

Someone listens to Talk Sport and reads too much Louise Taylor. The only people who spout that s**** are the lazy journos who don't have a clue about the area. I think that's his point entirely. He's not saying that's what he thinks himself he's saying that's what other people think and it's for exactly the reasons you've identified. Maybe I have the wrong end of the stick Indi, but I can't see what he was getting at with the protests comment. People look at these protests and see people whinging, but they don't understand them. As Wullie mentioned, others protest more than us, Newcastle fans by their nature have historically struggled to get together en-masse for a protest. The Scouser clearly knowsfuck all outside of stealing hubcaps.

Will be watching it in Perth at 12.30 on one of Dave's not allowed to mention channels on the computer. Will be soon moving into the new house and Foxtel is on it's way. The only matches I'll struggle with are the 8pm KO's. First time in 20 years I haven't renewed my ST, not missing it one bit.

BBC: Freddy Shepherd £60m offer for NUFC likely to be accepted

This this this. The bit in bold especially. I hate that man. -
It will be interesting to see if he drops his court case against us once Ashley has gone. If he doesn't, then it show what his true motive was in coming back.

Yes and being the modest bloke he is, he's called it Geordie Legend - The Saviour of Newcastle United

Nice copy and paste.

"On a page revealing "Michael Owen - Brand Values" they list 21 of his virtues including "Fit and healthy" - which will provoke disbelief on Tyneside. Then there is "Good looking", "Sincere", "Respected" and "Charismatic". My favourite part I wouldn't be surprised if this finished him and he had to get more hands on with wanking his horses off.
