  1. I don't think it would, might even reduce it.
  2. Haven't seen him other than some youtube scouting, but he looks amazing, rapid, good finisher and completely two footed. He'll do for me.
  3. You seem to be unnecessarily angry because there is no current indication at all that a) the club are planning to build a new stadium on Castle Leazes, or anywhere else, or b) that the council or Freemen would be against it if they were to.
  4. You seem to be quite an angry fella. The club don't own the land St. James' Park is on, the council do. Anyway, getting agreement from the Freemen to use the Castle Leazes site wasn't an issue in 1997 and iirc @LFEE suggested that it probably wouldn't be if we were to propose to build a new stadium there again. The issue in 1997 wasn't the Freemen, the council or Dolly Potter, the council were probably going to approve it but it because clear that the final decision would have been called-in by the government for a public inquiry due to English Heritage objecting to the impact on Leazes Park. John Hall then spat his dummy and withdrew the application rather than seeing the public inquiry through.
  5. Newcastle 3 West Ham 0 in 1996 has always stood out as a great game for me, peak Keegan, possibly the most dominant performance I've ever seen, it easily could've been 13 - 0 but for Les Sealey.
  6. I did, although others might have too. From rough measurements on Google Earth it would result in a stand the height of the Leazes 12m from Leazes Terrace, there's precisely 0% chance of that being acceptable both in terms of heritage or residential amenity impacts.
  7. I don't see how that helps from a FPP point of view. FFP is calculated over three years, if anything from a FFP point of view we'd want the first chunk of his fee in the previous year because it would be gone from the calculation a year sooner.
  8. It's based on when the individual club's accounts run from. Our accounts do run from 1st July.
  9. It will have been signed-off by the PL.
  10. I'm not sure that is correct, infrastructure, community, youth & women's football spending still seem to be excluded from the FFP calculation by Annex J.4 of the new regulations. But I've only briefly looked at it and a lot of it goes over my head, so might be completely wrong. https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/0274-14dc03ef33b9-3e2caa872860-1000/20220408_club_licensing_and_financial_sustainability_regulations_2022-en.pdf
  11. Which also ties in with the theory that it's Andy Carroll
  12. I had a similar experience at about 16, the bloke made a comment about "standing the requisite distance back" while serving me Then sold me some shite 70s softcoreified porn that bore no relation to what was on the cover.
  13. My, very much layman's, understanding is that infrastructure spending isn't actually specifically exempt from FFP. It's just that it is capital expenditure on physical assets and so doesn't affect profit/loss. Only youth, community and women's football spending is actually exempt.
  14. Also add Pete Doherty, Maxïmo Park, Everything Everything and Smoove & Turrell to that list.
  15. To be fair Gabriel's (formed by a mackem and named after a street in sunderland) were pretty fucking class too.
  16. No insult taken, I was only being playful. Many people refer to Man U as United in the rest of the country and media, but in Newcastle, United means NUFC. Please don't shut you mouth, your insights are very much appreciated
  17. Great post @Milanista but there's only one team that gets called United on this forum and it's not the one from Salford that changed its name from Newton Heath.
  18. Maybe he's just a fan of expensive metal dildos?
  19. I think it's more the massive payments extorted from clubs by agents that people have an issue with, like Mino Raiola getting £16m just in 'fees' from Man U when they bought Pogba back.
  20. More likely that he would take Willock's place in the team I think, although I think that Bruno will probably generally play in place of Shelvey in that deeper holding role next season.
  21. Jackie Broon

    Nick Pope

Although that does indicate that Darlow is better than De Gea.

Because he has a reputation of his distribution being shit, which is maybe a bit of a myth: https://themastermindsite.com/2022/04/26/the-myth-of-nick-popes-poor-distribution/
  23. Well not the owners because PIF apparently tried and failed to buy Man U before turning to us. The fans on the other hand: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10197295/man-utd-91-per-cent-fans-want-bin-salman-glazers-poll/
  24. Particularly as we hold the British (and I think world) record average attendance for a season outside of a top flight league, and three of the top 5 highest average attendances outside of a top flight league: 1947/48 - NUFC - 56,283 1949/50 - Spurs - 54,111 2016/17 - NUFC - 51,106 1946/47 - NUFC - 49,397 1974/75 - Man U - 48,389
