  1. The rule is different for European football, we'll need to have at least 4 players in the squad that have spent three years with us between 15 and 21, incomings won't count towards that (other than Toney maybe). The only players in our current first team squad that meet the European homegrown rule are Dummett, Longstaff and Langley.
  2. That's the effect of FFP, it makes the big 6 clubs incredibly valuable because they already have the revenue to be able to compete at the top of the table within the constraints of FFP. For clubs outside of the big 6 it's an unbridgeable gap, even multi-billionaires don't have the resources to get round FFP, only nation states do.
  3. Ekitike and Raphinha, I think we'll be looking more at that type of wide forward player than out and out wingers.
  4. I think they could do OK, they could also find themselves stuck in that division for 15-25 years like Leeds and Forest and many others have, and that's probably the more likely scenario given their financial position.
  5. He's played his part and done well in the run-in and that has probably increased his sale value, I doubt he'll be here next season.
  6. Yeah, Villa spent £91m in the summer and another £25m in January, plus Coutinho on loan, and finished three places below us. It's such a lazy and uninformed response.
  7. 76 points would be enough for top 4 in all but one PL seasons (13/14). It would have been enough to win the league in 96/97.
  8. This was when they won the title last season. Imagine the scenes outside St. James' if/when we win it.
  9. Such a flat performance and atmosphere for such a massive match for them, other than the spell after they scored, they just seemed to accept relegation.
  10. The authorities really need to stamp down on pitch invading, we can't be worrying about players and managers being attacked. They should be making it abundantly clear that they will do all they can to identify everyone entering the pitch and ban them. If one person does it that's what happens, if a thousand do it seems they're just let off unless they headbutt someone.
  11. I actually thought it was FIFA Just something about the way the players are moving.
  12. And the owners financially ruined the club attempting to do that, at a time where our owner didn't give a fuck.
  13. "£170m of their losses caused by covid" apparently. Their matchday income is about £15m per season
  14. Our budget for January was reported to be only £50m, there is clearly a big element of downplaying what we can/will spend. I doubt there is a budget as such, if the right deals for players we want are on the money will be there for them.
  15. Essentially they're just the same a crypto currency but with value linked to the demand for the individual NFT rather than the demand for the whole currency, the images are just a identifier. Ultimately, the value is just what people are willing to pay for something that has no inherent value. People only value them because other people might value them higher. But really that is just a transfer of money from one person to another with no real value. Essentially all money is only a token of exchange for work. If £10 sits in someone's pocket for a year it has produced no work in that time, if it is exchanged every day it produces thousands of pounds of work. real value only comes when there is circulation of currency that results in some kind of transfer of goods or services.
  16. Unfortunately, I can't see Burnley beating Villa away when they have just been comfortably beaten them at home.
  17. Fuck the sky 'big 6' cartel, we're coming to crash your party.
  18. Best performance since the Robson era. Just fucking sensational. What a night, what a club!
  19. If Burnley stay up they'll go down in 20th next season, guaranteed.
  20. 100%, players shouldn't get away with clear shirt pulling still in the age of VAR. Instead they just turn a blind eye 99% of the time.
  21. I don't think there's an issue with it in that circumstance. If a defender has their arm out like that an the ball hits it they can't have any complaints.
  22. No because FFP is assessed on profit/loss, it wouldn't make any difference to the profit/loss.
  23. Really? He's done a good job at Brentford but it's hardly unusual for a newly promoted team to finish mid-table in their first season (only to then struggle in the following season). The way Howe has turned us around is actually exceptional, as is what Pep has achieved and he probably should and will win it.
