  1. Just how good is the lad? Have many seen him play? Ive only seen him once for a full 90, did well I thought, had a nice mix of menace and passing ability, just find it strange 1. noone has picked him up before 2. how he can go from being linked with big money moves to Utd et al, to Bolton and us!
  2. you mean you have never used the word 'gammer'? Nah, that was a mistake!
  3. If you like, but really didnt! Was more caught up it making a sweeping storyline in which Xisco was mine, yours and everybodys hero, a man can dream I suppose!
  4. ...to the stadium? Poor gammer, really looking to point out that I dont think the stadium will be that full tonight!
  5. Man I want Xisco to have a blinder! Work his socks off, set up Owen for the first, they peg it back to 1-1 through some typically hapless defending from a corner, then in the 88th minute Xisco bursts through, rounds the keeper and slots it home! Celebrates incoherantly with the geordie faithfull who have travelled, while JFK looks on with a look of "not bad son, but shola would have went through the keeper then flicked it up and scissor kicked it in like a prooper fooking striker!"
  6. Yes he is an excellent dribbler, yes he has a superb eye for a pass, he is nowhere near pacey he strolls through a game!
  7. Remember him being a great player at Rangers, havent heard anything from since though mind Really wrong choice of wordage there man! He was a distinctly average player with one thing, pace! For some reason he always seemed to pull out a goal or two against Septic but apart from that he was anus-burn! Lightweight, pussys out of challenges, defensively inept, no range of passing or crossing, need I go on! Cannot believe some people on here wouldnt want Elano, he IS the player we need! Would agree we need a Heskey type in, but given the recent Emile love-in from the media, theres no chance! Random name for a player I'd love to see us go after is jermaine joones, a proper box to box midfielder, strong and great passer!
  8. Haha, top answer! Funny old one that club GLASGOW Celtic eh! That Britain comment has got to be one fo the most ignorant, unprofessional and embarressing pieces reporting I have ever read!
  9. Could someone explain to me when Scotland wasnt part of Britain?! Would be a great signing for us and a big loss for rangers. Can see him wanting away from SPL as it is clearly visable the physicality of it doesnt suit him(he's a bit of a shirker at times) but cannot see why rangers would let him leave on loan or sell him at a loss. Offer anything bove 3 and the state rangers are in at the mo they simply wont turn it down! Although surely this is some of the worst press drivel ever, simply pick a new rangers player each day! Oh and as for the Boruc link....NO NO NO NO NO x1000000 NOOOOOOOOOO!
  10. so spend 10 mil plus on delph because he is young, english and ripping it up in league one? How much have you seen of him? Bit harsh to just write off anyone from spl as over-rated and never make it in EPL!
  11. Im a massive rangers fan as well as the toon and don't fancy McGeady one bit. He is left-footed and plays left wing for Septic, but he fancies himself as an attacking central midfielder. It is due to Strachan refusing to play him in the middle that has caused much of the rifts between them. He is pacey enough but doesnt have half the tricks the media portray, always went missing in Old Firms too! (Although that was when Hutton was marking him!) Does deliver a decent cross though, for 5 or 6 mil I could live with it, but anything over that would be robbery of boumsong levels! Bougherra is a decent defender with good airial prowess and very quick on the ground along with being a good footballer, however I fear if he came here he would get caught out making too many mistakes, can be caught ball-watching a bit and has cost rangers goals this season. The fergie link baffles me, he's the club captain, openly admits in his book that he regrets the blackburn move loves rangers and would never leave again! Add to that the fact he is a 30 year old trying to get back to fitness after a rough injury, has no pace anymore and isn't even standing out for gers! If we are to go up north in this window, the best we could get is McGreagor if Shay moves on, awesome keeper!
  12. Bilic, please gawd! The only man who could make this whole fiasco seem somewhat bareable!
  13. Proof is in the pudding in management and KK was far from yesterdays man! His results, and more importantly, performances whilst toon manager were blossoming with each game and it seems I had caught the same KK bug as most! The man is so infectious and really made me fall in love with football, and most importantly NUFC, during his tenure this time round!(as was before!) We were all looking forward to what could have been a very good, and definetly exciting season! The problem here is KK is an honest professional, and most importantly, a fan of this club. He clearly was told he would be given full control of managing the club, transfer etc. or I doubt he would have returned. This soon changed with the COCKneys coming in, and I believe KK would have thought he would wait to see how the summer window goes, probably even being told from above that he would get x amount of money to spend and bring in the players he wanted/knew could bring the club forward. This transpired not to be the case and it seems coupling this with underhand sales of our players was enough to test his morals and walk. I would say KK has now totally given up on the game of football as it is dying as we know it, and I for one am starting to head that way too!
  14. The capacity for self-delusion that exists within our fan base never ceases to amaze me. That said, it's probably what also makes the Toon Army so special. Do you report directly to the owner of the company at your job or do you report to a line manager? There is a chain of command at every comapny and it's no different at Newcastle United. What do you think he was told by Ashley 'if you have any problems report them directly to me because i've got loads of time on my hands. Forget about Lambias, he's only there to do the paperwork'. The manager of a football club reports into the Chairman in most cases, not the owner. Why is the possible scenario i've suggested so delusion then? We live in an age of mass communication (24 hours TV news, RSS web feeds, mobile internet, blackberries, mobile email etc). I just find it a tad incredible to even contemplate Ashley would have had no idea what was going on back at the club, let alone that something as politically and commercially sensitive as sacking Keegan/or accepting his resignation would take place without Ashley knowing about it. Just wouldn't happen. Ashley may want to dissociate himself from what has happened, for reasons of personal safety/commercial interest etc, but I just don't buy it. If he does then he is a total disaster of an owner and completly the wrong man to take NUFC forward!
  15. Quite simply a walking legend! As stated, those glorious years in the nineties were the greatest rollercoaster ride any fan could ever hope to experience in their lives! I must admit my passion for the toon had somewhat waned since the SBR farce, albeit I still supported us, but there was just that SOMETHING missing. Then came that glorious day, whilst driving to collect my new car, that it was confirmed of the kings return! He was/IS that something! The man makes me feel like no-one else can, such excitement, pride and passion in him, my players, my club! Please KK, get back on the great train toon, stick two fingers up at Ashley, Wise, and most importantly the media, and lead us to wherever you choose, because we all know we'll just love the ride! In KK we trust!
  16. Ian Wright just said on talksport that he'd never heard of the person claiming to be SWP's agent and that the story is bull! He said theres four clubs in for SWP and that he's defos leaving chelsea, with it now just up to SWP to decide! He later went on to say he knows where he is going, and that it is a really important move for him to get his form back. My reading of it was that he is going to City or Everton, just the way he laughed off the link to them, please gawd let me be wrong and see him at the toon!
  17. erm...pardon me? Milner? pace? The end product bit. SWP can't cross worth s*** and people on here seem to think Milner can't either. People on here KNOW Milner cant cross!
  18. Disgusted if this is true! There is absolutely no reason for us not to be in for SWP, he's a world class winger with good prem experience and if he moves will have a major point to prove! Anybody who claims they dont rate mustn't have a very good memory, the lad was winning games on his own for city under KK! If SWP goes to everton for 9mil and we keep Milner after turning down a 7mil bid, I really will give up on football! World Class? Really? He's a good player. The fact remains that we have other areas that we need to buy for before we think about buying another RW, when we currently have Milner, Jonas, and Duff (and to some extent Geremi) who can all do a job there. I honestly do believe the guy is world class! I remember having a conversation with guys in work when he was starring for city, saying that at that moment in time there wasn't a better right winger in the world! Agreed he hasn't continued that form at chelsea, but that was mainly due to their style of play/lack of run of games. I just feel angry that the club are rejecting bids for Milner then see SWP being linked with a move! Understand the idea that we have other priorit positions to fill but when quality players become available, particularly those who KK has worked with and seen flourish, I believe we should be in for them! Hope some of the post are right and that we are in for him, just got quite angry there through shock!
  19. Disgusted if this is true! There is absolutely no reason for us not to be in for SWP, he's a world class winger with good prem experience and if he moves will have a major point to prove! Anybody who claims they dont rate mustn't have a very good memory, the lad was winning games on his own for city under KK! 20. Back on topic, I think we're in for a tough game if we dont score early, as has previously been said Bolton will just defend and then pump high balls up to Davies. To me its the perfect game to get Enrique back in at left back, get Zog down the left and Milner and Jonas switching between right mid and in the hole. To me Cahill is their best player, really would have loved us to go in for him, he only went for 4 mil or so!
  21. nice 1 man, it's gonna be my 25th birthday and my first toon match, ridiculous but true!
  22. slightly off topic lads but just wondering what the score is with getting tickets? I'm from Northern Ireland and fancy getting over for the Hull game, whats me chances of getting tickets? How do I go about it? Really don't fancy having to buy the 3rd kit just to get one mind!
  23. I can undrstand the arguement of we cannot afford to sell him as it leaves minimal time to find a replacement, however I honestly believe it is too good an offer to turn down simply due to time constraints! This is a distinctly average player who has not/may never really star for us, and I feel the 9 mil could be an excellent piece of business. There are better right sided midfielders out there who may be struggling for a game this season (the obvious being SWP and Lennon) and could lead to them be very attainable! I honestly do not see Milner making our starting 11 this season if we are at full strength, so there is no way we can afford to tunr down the money! Getting rid of average players and replacing them with good ones, the sign of a team thats on the up!
  24. again, agree with the above sentiments, really wanted it to work out for him, but it didnt in epic proportions! Now, who is the striker we all want? As already said, Ashton would be ideal, but there is still something about Gomis which makes me think he would be an awesome coup!
