IF cashley stays I would much prefare a manager who will be available for free and know their tenure is at the beginning this season only, anything after that is down to performance and impressing. In my head I really think Aidy Bothroyd is a good candidate, has the experience at this level, seems to have good passion and certainly would have a personal point to prove. Give him the gig, tell him its a year and it will be looked at at end of season, if we get promoted he may have impressed enough to get a longer contract, if not then he will not be short of offers after taking us up, win win really! BTW, Gordon Strachan is a horrible little scroat of a man and a very poor manager with it, his only achievements were in glasgow when he won the title a few times during an extremely bad time for rangers, please remem his record in england before you recommend him for us!

just goes to show how inept the fat one is when he is prepared to overlook wor Al in favour od JFK, didnt he learn his lesson with KK? and as for the quote that Shearer was the best signing he has made! Fook you Mike, fook you
-
So has the fat one offered him a deal a couple a weeks ago and JFK has turned it down, now going public with it and citing health reasons?
-
worth tuning into talksport, JFK is on in the next hour! Can we really take any more from this club...

I think messi is Irish. He is Irish, from Portadown I think? We're not irish in Portadown man! Maybe he omes from that wee part that thinks they are, probably why I dont know him, believe me all the newcastle fans know each other in this town, only is about 5! Haha. No I'm not from that wee part, quite the opposite in fact. Just don't feel the need to go off on 1 if someone refers to me as irish, not the end of the world like. Our part of the world is a joke like isnt it The barriers will never be broken down. man goes fishing, only catches 1! I wasnt fishing, I didnt know people found it offensive to be called Irish in some parts of Ireland. Im aware that some see themselves as British more than Irish, but not that they didnt see themselves as Irish at all. haha, I was the hunter man and looks like indeed I caught a big1! Could respond to your post but thats for another time and place, for now Im just gutted I cant make this match! -

Aye I know, was buzzin when I heard the ports were to play rangers and the toon, all me teams in one beautiful summer, then it turned out its the rangers youth team ad newcastle was barely a story! Spoke to people in high places at Ports and they said it was basically a non-runner from the start, so much so the only contact was from the chron! -

Yeah probably right. I really hope someone does come in for him though, massive wages and no consistency is not a great combination for a club thats just been relegated! Really dont see him scoring alot more in CCC, the most frustraiting player ever!

I dunno, he might turn out to be just what they need, a cog in the machine rather than a superstar. Fergie is a master of making a team more than a sum of its parts... he's made Darren Fletcher, Ji Sung Park and Wes Brown into part of the best team in the world (or maybe 2nd best!). He just needs to make sure he gets other players in who will provide the goals that Ronaldo leaving will take away. I like Valencia though, sure he'll do well. My thinking too. People will say he is Ronaldos replacement due to the position he plays although Man Utd will be looking elsewhere to replace the goals, assists and flair they have lost. I guess he'll play strictly out wide, in a way he might simplify Fergie's team selection since he has a clear position and won't be played through the middle like Ronaldo sometimes was. Rooney might come in and play central every week, along with another new signing. Maybe there'll be an increased role for Nani next season as well. Think supoertoon above is right, sure Fergie will splash out on a top quality CM/AM behind a mainly central Rooney Problem is, who could that central player be? I cannot believe Diego was allowed to slip off to Juve so easily, for me 20 mil on him would be a steal for a club like Utd. Every player they have been linked with are either wingers or forwards, and many of them they dont even look like getting! I think Valencia is a sign of the times, 17.5 mil on him is Utd spunkin big dough on average players. If Liverpool can hold onto Xavi and Masch and add one more quality attacker, I really see them being the team to beat! (btw the player made for Liverpool IMO was Arshavin)
-
Yip defos what they said, no details just simply he has failed to turn up for pre-season training. Really not the superstar he thinks he is, hopefully if he does go we can get a good price and re-invest with some hungry forwards!(btw 6mil is ot a good price for him IMO!)
-
will jack rodwell start? him and craig gardner are 125/1 first goal england 2-0? Who is your starting cb's?
-
fancy a punt on this but havent watched a single game so whats the feeling for engerland then? Are they worth it to win, whos a good bet for first goalscorer? Im thinking draw halftime and either engerland or draw full time?
-
Very much doubt we would fork out the 6mil for him, but would be happy enough if we did. Good age, got some good experience (particularly at CCC level) and could reallly thrive off a season down there. Beckford is a must as well mind! If we are picking up Utd players I would definetly want us to be in for Darren Gibson, quality!
-
If a potential buyer is looking at us, nw is their best time to pounch ad get a good price fromAshley, he wants out asap! My hope is there is a buyer, consortium etc. who have told Harris previously that they will wait and see if we go donw in order to get the best price. A Randy Lerner type owner please Santa!

Sunderland appoint Steve 'I bleed black and white' Bruce as new manager
wrightstuff83 replied to cp40's topic in Football
Said all season Bruce is the man we need in. His experience is good, plus what he has done with Wigan has been excellent. All this plastic geordie shit is harsh on him to be fair, i genuinely believe if we came in for him now he'd walk here. Shearer is a massive risk for me. When he came in I didnt expect a real tactical overhaul, rather a bit of urgency and passion from our players, instilled into them by a man who lives and breathes newcastle. It is clear to all that that passion never came and for me Shearer must take some responsibility for that. Plus his formations and substitutions have left alot to be desired. In saying that I have mad my peace with Shearer becoming manager as it will confirm he will get the control he desires. I also believe he will demand a decent kitty for the summer and speculate to accumulate(if w had of in January then maybe we wouldnt be n this position) Plus he wil get his own squad together and bring in the right people around him to hopefully push on as a reinvigorated club, I hope! -
for the right money (2mil max) I would say definetly this one should be a goer. Scores goals, pacey, big and stong and seems to have potential to keep progressing. I hear all the references to Andy Cole, but my first instinct was Ian Wright. Started non-league, progressed late in hi career all the way to the top! (plus a gobby sh*te to boot!)

OMG! Owen was one on one with the goal at his mercy, a top class finisher would have taken a touch, looked up and lifted over the keeper. What did our so called best finisher do? Panicked, slidat it and scuffed straight at james, good save my arse! and for the matter, i have no doubt Viduka would have ha the poise and class to slot it hime. Pretty clear your an Owen fan, which i fnd hard to believe at th mo, but keep on playing him and let him continue to be the worst best finisher at the club! Wjhile we are at it, Geremi played for real Madrid at one time and is known as a first class set piece taker and crosser of the ball ,lets get him playing every minute of the run in!
-
based on current performances man! Forget 'the name' and look at him simply as another player in our arting 11, he does NOTHING of any significance during his time on the pitch! When presented with a clear cut one on one in what was a massive game for us he panicked and fluffed it, highlighting his lack of class and current ability. people can slag Martins off but he works hard throughout and has been dropping deep in recent games to get on the ball and at least try and start something! To see our captain jog around the pitch with no effort and absolutely no end product is painful beyond words! survey says...DONE!
-
How anyone can defend this mercenary is beyond belief! He clearly doesnt give a s#it, is totally inneffective in open play and is only on the team as 'if he gets a chance, he'll puut it away'. Well he had his chance on Monday night and totally, totally fluffed it. Add to that he is still captain of our sinking ship, madness! Did anyone else notice when Jose was down injured, Owen just stood bout 5 yards away looking around, wondering when his next winner will run, disgraceful. even pompy players went to Jose as they knew how unlucky his injury was. I have never hated a toon player so much and will always remember him as the one scumbag who bled this club dry
