  1. Looked alright so far imo. Honestly? 10 men behind the ball at all times and when the do win it they've lost it again within 5 seconds. Arsenal are doing a good job of closing them down though. Yeah, honestly. They've passed it around nicely and have contested well for posession. Mowbray knows Arsenal will bum them if Celtic go all out so a compromise in mentality is needed, hence a slightly more defensive approach which was working well up until that sucker punch. Still got Fortune and McDonald, their top scorer, yet to come on as well so there's time for change yet.

Is he still involved with the club then?
  3. 1-1 "You're supposed to be in jail"
  4. I'd honestly rather keep Hughton than have O'Leary here. Actually, I'd sooner take Ossie Ardiles than O'Leary! You're both mad. We've never won a game with Hughton in charge, him being in charge for only 9 games last season got us relegated for f*** sake, he's the anti manager and made Kinnear look top class Wrong, we beat West Brom.
  5. Keep. Can't really be affording to lose any more players, especially seeing as Jonas is likely to leave as well.
  6. The lad in your avatar . For a second it looked like Nobby Solano Still, good news if he's being given a go. Pretty nervous about the match tbh. As positive as last week as in places, I think our fairly blunt attack will be put to the sword at home. Fully expect Reading to hold on to the ball well and frustrate us as much as possible. Going for a 1-1.
  7. FM legend Anthony Vanden Borre signs for Pompey on loan.
  8. Cattermole's hardly s*** tbf. He's not good or anything though. Just an average centre midfielder with a bit of a mean streak. Signing Cana and Cattermole just seems redundant to me also. The would have been better off getting someone to play a bit of football. Fair enough. Still (in response to Decky's point), when you consider that Cattermole is still young and also English, £6 million seems fairly standard in my eyes.
  9. Cattermole's hardly shit tbf.
  10. Want to get this. Do Sports Direct do the Championship-style lettering?

bizzarly would be an improvement on the present situation. It would, and for that reason I wouldn't be entirely impartial to seeing O'Leary as manager. But why go to him first when Curbishley and Strachan, both better managers for my money, are also available?
  12. I'd go with: Krul R.Taylor S.Taylor Coloccini Enrique Jonas Smith Barton Duff Lua Lua Carroll Need someone with pace who can get beyond Andy and make the most of his flick-ons. Kazenga's probably the closest we have to that at the moment and should be able to link well with the midfield.

You have to seriously question the motives of an owner who not only tries to run away at the first sign of adversity but also does it in no apparent rush. Ashley could have redeemed himself after Keegangate and relegation had he just gritted his teeth, rode the storm and brought in an able, long-term replacement manager. Instead, he's decided to do a runner on both occasions and the resulting periods of instability and ambiguity have done far more harm to this club than his other mistakes (Dennis Wise, KK etc). I'm honestly swaying over to the opinion that this man has it in for us.
  14. CL finish (and semi-final) with Leeds and top 6 with Villa... I think he inherited good players in both situations. As soon as he had to operate on a budget at Villa the team performances sunk like a stone. At Leeds, O'Leary inherited a great academy (with the likes of Kewell and Woodgate) rather than an overly strong squad I think. Yes, he wasn't initially responsible for this influx of talent, but O'Leary nonetheless deserves a bit of credit for bringing them into the first team and allowing them to grow as players. With the likes of Lua Lua, Ranger, Kadar and Vuckic in similar positions at the moment, they might be given more of a crack and add some much needed energy to the team. I wouldn't mind O'Leary as manager if I'm honest. His track record is fairly decent and he'll probably take the job regardless of the s*** we now find ourselves in. He is a complete w***** however, which may pose a slightly minor issue o'leary did do a decent job @ leeds to be fair to him, but he couldn't have done it without eddie gray, it was gray's youth team with the likes of kewell, woodgate, smith, robinson, harte that gave him the backbone of his team But was it not O'Leary who gave these players places in the first team? I'm not disagreeing with you; the youth system that Leeds had at the time, independent of O'Leary, was very, very strong. But I think it was O'Leary who let these players go up to the next level and gave them the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
