  5. It was called the Coca Cola Cup by Pardew last season
  6. As if they found a wetsuit big enough for Derek 'The Bulldog' Wright.
  7. No more Lee Dickhead? Get the fuck in.
  8. The best Carroll moment from last season was when Gary Caldwell skinned him to score the winner at Anfield for Wigan. It was fucking hilarious.

    I love our bids
  11. I bet I could find posts in a similar vein about Ba in a similar amount of games. Not saying Elliot is nailed on to do anything but this place can be terrible for jumping on a player after a very limited viewing. Elliot's 'shockers' have come against sides around the level he was performing well at, personally feel he needs a lot more breathing space before we decide he isn't good enough as was the case with a few others that were very harshly judged and have since come good. He's a goalkeeper though. One injury/suspension to Krul and he won't have that, he'll be pitched in and expected to be able to perform as a Premier League keeper. I'm very concerned by the admittedly limited performances I've seen from Elliot. I'd be happier if Harper/a new signing was to be our bench keeper and Elliot could go out on loan and develop a bit more. He's nowhere near good enough to play in the top division currently, IMO.
  12. There's a pattern lately that once players have settled they look like astute signings, Elliot could well manage it. From what I've seen though (and that isn't much, but about as much as anyone else will have) he looks a long way below what our bench keeper should be at.
  13. I saw the Forest cup game, the reserve game against Swansea(?) where he shipped 3 and also have seen the Chemnitzer goal. There's not a lot else for me to go on but he looks every inch the lower league goalie.
  14. Having just watched most of the game, Bigirimana and Tavernier look to be outstanding prospects. Sammy, Vuckic and Abeid aren't far behind. Harper also looks more agile and a better keeper than that pillock we signed from Charlton, despite being about 15 years his senior.
  15. Just get his wages off the books, and maybe put him in the shop window for someone else. As discussed before, which club exactly is going to be able to pay all of his wages?
  16. The supposed reason Rodgers wants shot is because Carroll doesn't fit the style, as opposed to him needing to regain form elsewhere. Therefore, unless the loan deal was for a year with an agreed transfer at the end of it whilst the buying club got the finances together for the fee, what point is there in loaning him out?
  17. Had an odd dream last night. NUFC's next friendly was at home to a women's team from Norway. We lost 0-3 and for some reason Peter Lovenkrands scored the opener for the women's team from the penalty spot before celebrating wildly in front of the Gallowgate.
  18. My take on this is that we know a loan bid will be unsuccessful unless we pay 100% of his wages and have a high agreed fee, so we're merely putting in a loan bid we know will be turned down in order to drive the price down. If Carroll wants to come he'll ask for the move and that might put the price down. FWIW jimburst's post on the other page sums it up for me. We shouldn't go anywhere near him.
  19. The bit about him flying into England last night, is that true or something they've made up?
  20. This interest in Carroll is almost certainly opportunistic. I'm confident we have targets beyond De Jong and will strive to get those in, once we get the more pressing matter of the Simpson/Debuchy situation sorted out.

    NUFC Kits

Same here. The nigh 70 page thread on here though suggests people take these things very seriously though. Yeah, I'm not bothered either. It's a training top at the end of the day, it's not on the actual replica/match shirt. It's a bit like someone complaining that the Prime Minister wears tracksuit bottoms and a sweatshirt when he's sat at home with his family on an evening.
  22. Really hope this is the last we hear of this. No doubt there'll be loads around deadline day though.
