Quite pleasing that we're 6th in the league and we make a signing like this. Perhaps the lack of ambition we showed in selling Carroll and weakening in the last transfer window, as opposed to strengthening like we (so far, I hasten to add!) will mean the Coloccini situation doesn't end up like the Enrique one?

You say that, yet every time we've hoyed Perch on in CM for the last ~15 minutes, we've never looked worse, or severly under pressure as a result. He's a liability as a defender but for me, he's fairly useful to chuck in there to see the game out. just seems bizarre when you've got a natural centre mid sat on the bench. I do agree Perchy's done little wrong. It does seem bizarre, but it's worked areet for us a few times now and provided he's coming on in midfield, I'm not at all fussed about seeing Perch come on.

It's not OTT, really. Shola did very well against Man U and Blackburn. He was, however, just as equally dreadful today.

He's a very solid player. Not great with the ball at his feet but certainly not the worst in our team at present.

He was quite shit for large periods of the game today. Thankfully, it didn't really hurt us in the end.

I'm glad he used the Cabaye injury as an excuse to change things early on instead of bringing on like-for-like, because we looked dreadful in the opening 10-15 minutes.

R.Taylor on the wing instead of Obertan is a small mercy, but obviously Ben Arfa should be a million miles ahead of them both.

This is the third time now we've played a promoted side and Pardew has left out Ben Arfa. What a load of fucking shit.
