  1. very very nervous. i hate derby day so much and a few days ago was certain sunderland will win. but now, im getting slightly optimistic - dunno why. given beye taylor coloccini bassong duff butt guthrie nzogbia martins shola BENCH: harper, enrique, cacapa, geremi, jonas, barton, xisco JFK might go with geremi over duff/zoggy, while barton will come on in the 2nd half this 11 has geordies (taylor, ameobi), players with experience of this derby (nzogbia, given, butt) and the likes of duff and martins who have played in last seasons games and i think this will ultimately help us. COME ON TOOOOOOOOON
  2. and its good that it came from Kinnear and not a "club source" or "insider".....i must say im feeling positive about things today. win tomorrow and things will pick up. we're only 5 games into the season and winning tomorrow can fire us up the league. im hoping that once this is sorted we'll have fulfilled our "annual crisis" criteria for the media and we can crack on with the season
  3. my friend left her freshers week party early and decided spur of the moment (no pun intended) to go to the match. she got in for £10 but i heard prices went down to £5
  4. horrible name......and dunno how to feel about cup final runners-up not qualifying. im guessing that place just goes to the next league team??
  5. rather have o' leary than hughton. our backroom staff is as thin as the squad.
  6. anil ambani isnt even the richest brother in his family http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Anil_Ambani_Lakshmi_Mittal_among_top_10_billionaires/articleshow/2842665.cms
  7. I kinda feel ashamed now, I feel sorry for the guy. Of course, selling is the right decision at the moment, but despite a good start here, he made a few high profile mistakes that have forced him out. But if he'd said this earlier, there wouldnt be as much hostility towards him. Nobody from the club said anything and that was fatal to MA i reckon. The enemies are Wise, Llambias and Jimenez. He seems like a top guy who genuinely loves football and its a shame to lose a guy like that from football, especially when clubs are quickly becoming play-things for the rich. He mentions how passionate our fans are, the flip side to that is when things dont go well....you're a mong-target! So thanks Mike, for keeping the club afloat. Its been a tricky couple of weeks and you've paid the price for it. You seem like a good guy who maybe listens to other people too much. Good luck with your life and please sell us to the right person, not necessarily the one with the most money

  9. paul merson "and theres a riot. guthrie's been sent off and theres a riot"........foreshadowing the demonstrations perhaps?? this club is a mess
  10. this'll just be the start of our annual rut. we'll be ok - eventually! but tbh, we shouldnt be settling for that. i just dont get why, whenever we fold, we do it spectacularly
  11. sometimes i really hate this club. but i love it so much. COME ON LADS 3-2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. of course we're losing - its newcastle united. we've built quite reputation for this over the years: losing regularly to reading and wigan, as well as the farces that were derby and sheff utd. and now its 2-0, great
  13. wow, this clubs a mess. being an eternal optimist, im hoping this is actually to bring him back.......if only for the sake of the club. but the last 10 days have been freaky.
  14. its a bit lame isnt it?? nothing groundbreaking there at all, why wont there be a march anymore??
  15. to the tune of the "um bongo" adverts: ambani, ambani they love him in punjabi ......short but simple
  16. If Ambani's smart he'd wait til after the demonstrations at the hull match......thatll be the moment it all sinks in for ashley. might lower the price a bit. in regards to keegan, yes it was amazing when he came back and we were full of joy. but after the last few days can we say it was worth it?? we only get the extremes with him and ambani would be wise to steer totally clear of keegan and go in his own direction. forge his own legacy!
  17. i think we all need to be 100% clear what the march is for....no mixed messages, just one very simple aim. march to SJP before the game, whilst circling the ground to get more people on board. then protest before the game complete with banners, songs etc. spend the first 20 minutes of the game outside continuing this, but NO LONGER because we have a match to win. if you're loud enough, the players can hear from the pitch anyways. everyone gets in the ground, continues the protests via singing - making them positive while the match goes on. half time, whack the banners up, everybody stays in the ground (no food, no drinks, no toilet......hold it in and bring a packed lunch ) and go crazy with the negativity, but once the players come back out, its time to support them again. after the match, once we've won, hang around for a while and keep protesting (similar to that blackburn match just before roeder got kicked out/quit). and then our point is finally made: the world watches us non-mongs make a stand, ashley gets financially wounded, the board takes notice, the team wins and the squad has a new respect for its fans. piece of cake (just trying to merge a few seperate ideas into one plan)
  18. i'd be ok with van gaal, marcelino or bilic. but wudnt be against deschamps and laudrup. has to be foreign. got a feeling itll have to be spanish, someone who doesnt have a big ego (so he can be ashley's puppet) and has experience working in this set up tho...
  19. i honestly thought it was all sorted out and i was happy again. shocking turn of events. we need details before blaming people, but my gut says keegan has let us down at the worst time - even if it was a "matter of principle". btw, how serious were people about boycotts?? we're in deep shit now
  20. yepes is still on a free. if he's as good as he was until a year ago, we'd be mad not to get him. same for appiah
  21. even though negativity on this forum gets slated by some people, here its entirely justified. in fact, i'd be disappointed if you weren't negative after that shambles of a deadline day. if we get lucky with injuries, we might survive til january......but this is newcastle united. the jinxed club. we're a mess and i guess whats happening with keegan and ashley is a results of this.
  22. one of the papers said we'd sell for 2mill. if thats the case i'd rather we kept him for a year and lose him for nowt. losing out on 2mill will be worth it if his goals win us a trophy, get us into europe or even just get us more prize money from the league. but we need to get him signed up asap to be honest
