  1. just found out west ham have only ever had 12 managers in their history!! we've probably had that many this millennium (cant be bothered to count)
  2. unless our teams swap divisions, of course he'd come here. managers have the foresight to look at potential and status when it comes to jobs. as bad as things are for us at the moment, we'll still always be bigger and most likely better than swansea - who might just be a flash in the pan for a couple of years. maybe in our depressing bubble, we're on par with swansea. but to the rest of the world, newcastle or swansea is no contest, thankfully. its a moot point though, cos ashley would never go for anyone that might possibly do well here.
  3. yet ANOTHER bad score for newcastle. im sick of this

  5. So....was there a meeting or not?? im glad you're finding this situation funny, mate. ... clearly, there wasn't a meeting. How is he laughing at the situation? He's laughing at some chants. Yet more twisting. not really. he's on about the hull match when the protests happened. they weren't cute little chants, yet he found them "very funny".
  6. definitely going now (thank god!). dont wish him any ill health, just want him to stay away from my club forever.
  7. So....was there a meeting or not?? im glad you're finding this situation funny, mate. woooohoooo its about time

    Players in public

what was he dressed up as?? it was a superhero fancy dress night.....
  9. ameobi's not doing any harm by staying. he's not a big earner and we're potentially losing owen, xisco and viduka in the summer. and lovenkrands' deal runs out. and to be fair, he's done an ok job of being a squad member over the years. its the wages of owen, geremi, viduka, cacapa and smith that need to go... i must say, IF we stay up - im reasonably optimistic about next year (unless Kinnear stays, of course). Finally a chance to get rid of the deadwood and start again.

    Aston Villa

im in the minority, but i want villa to fail (sorry brummie!) its just pure jealousy. theyre everything i want us to be.
  11. Winners: Man City - didnt buy Kaka, but still bought good players, even if it is for ridiculous prices (except given ) Aston Villa - bought exactly what they needed Everton - bought exactly what they needed Stoke - no major sales and a couple of handy sales in Etherington and Beattie Losers: Portsmouth - lost key players and replaced them with dross Newcastle - needed at least 1 more player Liverpool - Rafa's an idiot Wigan - Losing Heskey, Palacios and Taylor is a big blow, even though Rodallega and Mido might turn out ok. Insomnia is an enigma. Watson isn't good enough Boro - came off worse in the Mido-King swap and thats all they ended up doing.
  12. im really sad to see shay go and its definitely the end of an era. unfortunately, the way he's left has soured things a little bit but don't let it cloud the fact that for 11 years he's stuck with us and proven himself as one of the worlds best. until recently, he never complained publicly despite having many reasons to. the amount of shit he's had to put up with is unbelievable and its symbolic of the current turmoil that he thinks THIS is the point of no return. came close to breaking our appearances record too. shay given became synonymous with newcastle united and itll take some time getting used to him in a new shirt with a new logo. but life moves on and this might have been the last chance we ever had to seriously cash in on him, consdiering his age. and in the present situation, if sacrificing shay means keeping us in the premiership....then its something that had to be done. its a risk worth taking!! good luck shay, not sure how long you'll be number 1 at citeh though.....
  13. VERY concerned about keeping the fee a secret. cant see that turning out well for us?? and would people REALLY be happy with bent? he'd eat into quite a lot of our kitty
  14. ive had enough of colo now. he's had time to settle and still done nowt for me
  15. the tension at SJP will crush the players
  16. we've got all the symptoms of a relegated team. instability off the pitch, clueless on it, a total lack of passion throughout the club, long serving players finally abandoning the ship, crippling injuries and lots of bad luck (think of all the injury time equalisers we've conceded). if any team defines the term "confidence team", then its us. we either go on good runs or horrifically bad runs with no in-between. we're running out of time to pick up the momentum.
  17. unfortunately, we just dont win away games - so forget about them. we've got man u, chelsea and arsenal - so forget about them. that leaves sunderland, everton, pompey, boro and fulham. take that as a good thing or a bad thing.....
  18. 8. its three out of us, boro, west brom and stoke
  19. who the hells gonna play? harper taylor bassong coloccini enrique jonas geremi butt nzogbia carroll duff the bench can be from: krul cacapa edgar lua lua lovenkrands xisco ameobi smith physioroom says cacapa and ameobi will be ok. also, you'd have thought they'd try to rush martins back early for a game this important. at least a few bodies should be back, despite losing the players with actual quality
  20. we're gonna get sliced and diced. ultimate rape-age. roll on sunday
