Its not working out because Bruce is absolutely fucking clueless thats why. He's one of our best players clearly. He'll be off and it'll suit both parties. He can go and play for a side that isnt just about defending and trying to fluke a goal on the break and it'll free up a space for Bruce to bring in some clogger more suited to his turgid 'brand' of football.

He's got me blocked. Whats he prattling on about now?

I'm here too. I don't think what Luke Edwards has posted on here under his most recent guise is particularly wrong like. There's a small chance some meaningful progress is being made in the background but we've yet to see any real evidence of that outside of a few ITK's passing on what they've heard with the best of intentions. I think anyone believing that this deal is anywhere near being concluded is deluding themselves though. Not sure how you know that, as we are all 'hearing nothing', which is how it should be. The deal is just as likely to be agreed tomorrow as it is in December or March. The news, when it comes, will come out-of-the-blue. Or it wont come at all, which is by far the most likely scenario given how its played out so far.

Don't hear much from him these days, I'd forgotten how much of a wanker he was.

That list includes people who've led sides to multiple cup finals, not sure they're all the worst in history. Marcelo Lippi who has won 5 league titles, a Champions League and a World cup amongst other things is the 11th worst manager of all time apparently. Five of ours made the list.

He's our best player but he's not a No10. He's at his best on the left/right of a front 3 behind a lone striker. If we play 532 there's no real position for him as the wingbacks get forward a lot more, yet he's too good to leave out.

The Nigel Person one was the strangest like. Such a bizzare bloke

What are you on? Have you just woke up from a 6 months coma, The Takeover, the big 6 project......Aye the Pl are Snow White. If PIF etc haven't provided what they need, then make a decision and say rejected because of x, y and z. Don't f***ing hide behind 'no decision has been made'. But how do you know the decision process is even structured like that? It could be a case of 'until you provide us with proof of X, Y and Z we can't approve the takeover'. 'We'll approve it when you provide this and that'. Therefore its not a formal rejection, its a case of the PL being willing if certain requirements are met, which as of yet haven't. Even if the approval process was on a Accept/Reject spectrum, rejecting it could terminate any legal/administrative progress that has been made up to that point. They bidders would essentially have to start the entire process at all. I can't see a logical reason as to why the PL wouldnt be in favour of a takeover if it met certain requirements. It goes completely again their interests. So the O&D test is not fit for purpose if the PL can just leave it hanging forever. By your logic, the consortium could come back many years in the future and say, here is the answer now and so please approve us. If you can't see that the PL not making a decision is the only way theycould stop the takeover then you need to start claiming benefits for your lack of eyesight! You're only absolutely certain about that because it fits into your narrative of the PL digging their heels. Its more than a distinct possibility that the sovereign wealth fund trying to buy the club haven't met set specifications to pass a legitimate test and have been unwilling to co-operate further. You won't hear it though, because it's not what you want to hear. I am quite willing to hear it and would welcome it as it would provide clarity. However, for the PL process to allow a situation where they haven't made a decision and have no intention of making a decision is quite ludicrous. If the PL have asked for more details then it would be only natural for a response from the PL to say something like the following if PIF don't respond ' We can't continue with the O&D if you do not provide the information we ask for. If it is not provided within X days/weeks then the PL will have no alternative to reject the takeover based on an incomplete submission'. To ask for more information (if indeed they have) and then leave it open for 10 + weeks and not put a deadline on a reply.........absurd! They have. They've already said they need certain information for the takeover to proceed to the next stage. There doesn't need to be an unnecessary arbitrary deadline on any reply and they dont need to issue a rejection. They've asked for certain information, PIF have failed or are unwilling to provide it. What it could boil down to is whether their request is a legitimate one and within the specification of the O&D test.

Explain to me why it makes any sort of business sense for the PL to block more income and growth in the league and why they haven't done it before? An answer that consists of more than 'muh corruption' or pasting the fucking tweets of known lunatic Burnsie into the thread if possible..

Its an absolute mess like. I still think there is and always has been serious problems with the bid that simply haven't been addressed. There is no reason for the PL to not want more investment in one of their member clubs. More money, better players, a bigger club, a better product. Its totally counter intuitive for the PL to not want the takeover. The PL answer to their shareholders and ultimately a Saudi back NUFC would improve their product. There simply has to be serious issues with the bid or bidders. I don't buy that they're corrupt/in Qatar or the Big Sixes pocket either. For what reason? It would be cutting off their nose in spite of their face. As for NUFC fan related social media, its packed with absolute fucking chancers that care more about their content than the actual club. A lot of them would be happily to seriously mislead fans for a few extra subscribers or followers (I'm including journalists in that too). Mike Ashley could do whatever the fuck he likes and some of them would produce some award winning mental gymnastics to justify going to the match or buying from the club so they keep running their stupid accounts or barely listened to podcasts.

Peak Guardian that article like.

That @MoneyMikeAshley account is a funny one like. Obviously its spot on in all its utterances. Too on the ball to not be run by someone with a vested interest in NUFC, yet it started life as a Venkys account. It was @VenkysBlackburn in 2012, being retweeted only by Blackburn fans. Sometime in 2013 it changed and became @MoneyMikeAshley, it used to follow 41 people too, but now only Keith Bishops agency. By that time Blackburn had been relegated (and no longer in the medias eye) and the Sack Pardew campaign was in full force. In one of the early tweets it, it specifies that 'its a team effort', but the tweet before it is unavailable. Suggesting it wasn't originally just one person. Its weird one like. They're seemingly ITK, though very very vague but the fact that it wasnt set up originally as a Newcastle related account is strange. It could, of course have changed hands, but why would anyone wanting to parody Mike Ashley - with very specific, ears to the ground tweets take over a Venkys account?

Sorry to post this blady fucking cunt of a bloke in here but this really is an unbelievable tweet from a professional journalist for a national newspaper. Outright winding fans up of the club he's supposed to report on. He's an absolute disgrace.

I read and enjoy the vast majority of threads in the football section and most in the chat section. There's not one i'd really consider overwhelmingly bad, but the takeover thread really is the worst the worst thread ever created on this forum like

Good job he didnt actually want a Zeus painting because thats Neptune.

Being first in line to the hot new prospect in the next draft. And on that note, am I crazy for wondering if a big enough rift could make drafts possible in football? Now wondering whether they could implement a draft system for the new Euro league. Players available to sign choosing to 'declare' for the new league? yeah but that depends on finishing last. so if you can't reach the playoffs, then teams strive to finish last? Players and coaches are still trying to keep their jobs in a league with a high player turnover ratio due to the draft. Doesn't really make sense for players to lose on purpose so the team could draft their younger and cheaper replacement. Owner's would most likely love to see their team lose in a lost season but it's never that simple. Trading away your best players is basically the only option and even that doesn't always work. A draft would actually be great in football. It'll never happen in a million years though.
