  1. You can't drop Nolan. We're half the team without Nolan's captaincy. Wish it weren't the case, but it's true.
  2. What top-form??? The guy hasn't had a decent set of performances since he's been at the club. Utter bollocks. it's just typical NUFC 'pick a scapegoat and run with it' disease. Been the same with Taylor for the last few seasons. Usually based on foundations of sand but perpetuated endlessly. Agreed. Jonas terrorised defences in the Championship and put in a good few assists. He was almost unplayable on his debut against Old Trafford. The problem this season was always going to be that Jonas and Enrique are tremendously easy to read in the attack. Once you do your homework, it's very easy to defend against them and that negates their threat hugely. Barton has been a revelation partially because no one saw it coming, and him and Simpson are forming a similar partnership. Jonas is a top athlete, but once that fails he's nothing. I'm convinced he's carrying an injury. He didn't look fit from the first minute of the West Ham game. It's not just that he didn't look good, he looked exhausted and the guy beside me agreed. (Didn't stop everyone behind me from giving him abuse) It's the only reason I think they had Ferguson on the bench: they knew they weren't going to get 90 minutes out of Jonas. The guy needs a rest, quite simply. A few weeks off and rejuvenated and his body will be back up to speed. His sloppy mistakes will be cut out and his athleticism will improve to what it can be (and on his day, he can skin/win a free kick off the best defenders in the league). His delivery really is awful, though, which is why he relies on Jose so often to knock it back to.
  3. If we played a 4-5-1 with an attack of Tiote Barton Nolan Larsson Jonas Carroll I reckon it'd be pretty effective. Larrson and Barton both with the ability to float balls in, and Barton can still drift and support Simpson with Tiote shoring up the middle with Nolan. Means you can pack the midfield without having to use Smith or Routledge, essentially.
  4. Bear in mind Bolton were happy to get rid of Nolan IIRC. And he's now the best captain we've had in while.
  5. If Barton took an ankle knock for a month we'd be screwed. At £1.5 this'd be a good signing. No pressure on him to come in straight away.
  6. I'd punch everyone around me. Then Ranger.
  7. Worst miss of all time. Tbf, I was laughing for about ten minutes since it didn't matter.
  8. Krul Perch Campbell Kadar Ferguson Routledge Smith Guthrie Xisco Best Ranger We'd probably lose with that like, but I don't want any more first team injuries.
  9. EH? You've given Lovenkrands the same marks as Shane Ferguson? Were you watching any of the game at all? Scored 1, set up 2... wow. The hatred for Lovenkrands is insane Tbf, I didn't see Lovenkrands' goal clearly, so I didn't feel giving him a mark was fair since it could have bundled off his knee. I actually like Lovenkrands generally, was a big fan last season. 6.5 is probably a little harsh in retrospect. Bump him up to a 7.
  10. Just back. Harper - 8 Simpson - 7.5 Coloccini - 9.5 S. Taylor - 7.5 Enrique - 8 Barton - 8 Tiote - 9 Nolan - 8 Jonas - 6 Lovenkrands - 6.5 Best - 10 Williamson - 7.5 Ranger - 5 - worst sitter miss I've ever seen Ferguson - 6.5
  11. Hell of a lot more PL goals than Routledge. If we flogged Routledge for £8m and brought him in for less, it'd be great business.
  12. Provided we replaced him with someone with pace, I'd also snap their hand off for it. Routledge's pace has come in very handy for us though, running at tired legs like in the Wigan game, and it'd be a shame if we lost the ability to do that.
  13. why? Didn't state. I presume it's to stop him getting injured like he did at Milan.
  14. Joey at CB. Pardew's mental. I don't like his style of talking about individuals. Opposite of Hughton's dignity.
  15. Ok so you say Newcastle is at 60%. What is Newcastle United FC at 100% according to you? I'd say it's probably on the same par as Spurs at 100%. Flirting with 4th in the current climate.
  16. BBC claiming he may be restricted to training only.
  17. Gary Neville is 16/1 to be the next Burnley manager
  18. Our finances aren't in good order though. Just cause we owe to Ashley rather than to other companies doesn't mean we're not in debt.
