This guy can have the world at his feet if it weren't for his outrageously limited brain and decision making. Whatever he has in his locker in terms of pace, skill and technique is rendered moot by his shockingly woeful timing and decisions. I keep thinking this is something that can be coached into him with time, but whenever he looks like improving a tiny little bit, he goes and puts in a cameo like the one we saw yesterday. Can't believe someone like Amalfitano who has shown desire and application every time he's played for us can't get 10 minutes ahead of Obertan in yesterday's scenario. Not much hope for him now imo.

Starting to feel a bit guilty for hating LFC as much as I do. Most of my good friends are supporters, and I've had to endure years of shit from them for supporting Newcastle. I have really enjoyed seeing them spiral out of control during the last few years, but even I must admit, shit as they are, they have been unlucky in the main. They didn't dominate Man Utd as much as they think they did, and still barely created any real openings. They were still good value for a point however, and I think now that they have been screwed out of it by a poor penalty decision. I want to laugh at them for being shit, and not for being fucked over by refs. I think a re-match is in order.

Makes a late tackle and kills someone: Mr Liverpool. Plays a hollywood ball out to the wing but nobody there: Mr Liverpool. Ball drops on the box and toe punts it aimlessly forward: Mr Liverpool. Gets involved in a dispute which has nothing to do with him, making it worse, then telling everyone to calm down: Mr Liverpool. Motm? Man of he universe, get it right. Passes it two foot forward.... GEEEERRRRRRRRRAAAAAAARRRRDDDDDD!!!!! it's scary how close that is to reality

We shouldn't give up on him yet imo. We got him for nowt, and he hasn't really had a proper run in the side up until this season. We need the bodies, and I like that he has the opportunity to play in the Europa and Cup games which gives him objectives and milestones to achieve. He looked much much improved against Maritimo, even in terms of his mobility and control. No reason to stall his progress now. He seems like a good professional, and I can;t imagine he's on a wage that is incongruent with his contribution. Keep.

Boils down to who scores first. If we manage it I'm fairly confident we'll win it. -
Depends how good the security is around it.

According to the pundits on Al Jazeera sport at HT (Dalglish, Curbishly and some other knacker), Liverpool are the clear favorites to lift this trophy

Marítimo vs Newcastle (20/09/12) 6pm KO - Live on ESPN

Some overreactions to the squad strength in here, but not all of it unjustified. The main worry for me is in central midfield. I can only hope that we play a midfield 3 of Perch, Bigirimana and Abeid. I also wouldn't like to see Taylor risked at all, but I suppose we have no one else. Rather Anita didn't play either. Like to see the following line up: Harper Tavernier Williamson Taylor Santon Bigirimana Perch Abeid Obertan Marveaux Ameobi -

It's our first game in the group, it's away from home, we have a thin squad and a few key injuries. Would be absolutely stupid to risk other key players in this particular game. Steven Taylor for example shouldn't play. -
Proper footballer this guy. You can see he's still new to the league. Got no problems with his progress whatsoever.

My love for this lad has grown 100 fold in the past year. He's been outstanding in nearly every game he's played for us in that time. The only time I remember him below par was at Carrow Road. He's an absolute beast in midfield, and he tries to do a bit of everything. He tackles, passes and drives forward. Love for him to score a long range missile soon.

Yup, agree with this. Anita's pass back to him was stupid. Hhhmmm, it was back to Perch's feet, he got himself a little tangled with the ball, bit harsh to blame Anita for that pass. Pretty sure you could see in the replays that he had an eye on Jelavic who was on the ground injured, and was wondering if he should put the ball out.

We were excellent 2nd half, even if they arguably deserved 2 extra goals due to bad decisions. Played a mix of hoofball and decent stuff. Worth watching properly. Where did you go after the first half like? To bed, it was 4am here and I needed to be up at 8. I understand there are priorities in life, but fuck me, I'd never be able to do that. Not because I'm some sort of special snowflake supafan...i just wouldn't be able to fall asleep not knowing the score.
